(CNN) -- Martina Navratilova was released from a hospital in Kenya Sunday after undergoing treatment for high altitude sickness developed during a failed attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
"I am feeling much better and really pleased to be going home," the retired tennis champion said as she left a Nairobi hospital, according to a news release. "It's great to know that the team have all returned safely from the mountain. I was so pleased to hear that so many of them made it to the summit despite the weather conditions."
The 27 climbers in Navratilova's group reached the base of Kilimanjaro Sunday.
Navratilova was one of several high-profile athletes talking part in a climb for charity for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. Laureus is an organization that seeks to raise donations for AIDS research as well as confront social problems of crime, violence, discrimination and obesity, among other causes.
Navratilova was forced to withdraw Thursday on the fourth day of the climb after becoming ill 4,500 meters up Kilimanjaro. Navratilova had to be carried down the mountain by porters.

Despite her lost soul (and maybe because of it), I don't have any animosity towards Navratilova, and truth be told I was always a big fan of her tennis abilities.
This, however, is such garbage:
confront social problems of crime, violence, discrimination and obesity, among other causes.
You don't "confront" these things. They will all be with us (and more) until Christ returns. We live in a fallen world, and God is the answer - not climbing mountains, walk-a-thons, bake sales, protests, teach-ins, funding, candle light vigils, or temper tantrums.
Martina's life seems to be caught up in a downward spiral, and I hope she turns to God someday soon.

Whew!! Scared off the mountain gorillas.
4500? Must have done no acclimatization.
That picture is what will happen if you do not drink your milk and if you do not believe in GOD.

Don’t Everest climbers acclimate at about the height of Kilimanjaro?
Maybe she ate a bad taco! ;0)
The rumor is that she was bit by a mountain beaver.
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. We lost a female on our team the final day due to altitude sickness, but she was able to walk down the mountain. It can hit even the most fit person.
She fainted when she realized there was still snow on the top of the mountian?
The one that stuck is "Martina: Do you cache Czechs here?"
That one must have come up a lot for me to remember it...
I think that most, or all, distributions of Linux still have it. Just type "fortune" at the command line. I always took out the fortune in my login script. Too annoying.

Help! Im a prisoner in a Chinese bakery!
LOL. Maybe I should have left fortune in my login script!
She must have been on the expedition to build a bridge between the two peaks.
They still have it or most Linux I have used do you just do not see it now because most system boot into a GUI. I run Slackware mostly and I still login the old way and have to type startx so I still see those little bits of wisdom.
...And too much testosterone in her/his body!
Amen!

I thought the guy on the left WAS Martina.
