If it was "morning in America" for President Ronald Reagan, a new commemorative postage stamp due in February to mark "the Gipper's" birth centennial will forever view the sunrise.
The new commemorative stamp, whose design was unveiled Monday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., always will be valid for a 1-ounce first-class letter, the U.S. Postal Service confirmed. It officially will be released at the library on Feb. 10, 2011, four days after the 100th anniversary of Reagan's birth.
Texas artist Bart Forbes did the portrait, based on a 1985 photograph of Reagan taken at Rancho del Cielo, near Santa Barbara, Calif.
The design was published first in Linn's Stamp News, a hobbyist publication. Earlier this year, Linn's broke the news that a Reagan Centennial postage stamp would be released.
Although the preliminary design shows a 44-cent value, the postal agency recently announced that all commemorative, or special, issues will be inscribed with "Forever," instead of a face value, meaning they would sell for the then-current first-class rate but would remain valid for first-class mail even when rates increase.
A USPS spokesman who asked not to be identified by name said a revised version showing the "Forever" inscription will be released Dec. 28.

One other cool feature about this unit: the whole thing can be backed to an external USB drive through a USB2.0 port on the back. I could actually switch it to RAID 0 configuration, use all 2TB for live storage, and get a 2TB USB drive for my backup.

Though none of this explains how I lost my photos of a very special church event last February/March.
O.O
Whom do I beg for a taster?
Good morning! Happy 2011!
It’s official! My calendars are up and not one says “2010!” YAY!!!
I managed to rack up almost 11 hours of badly needed sleep last night, and squeezed in 15 minutes beyond my normal waking time. Strange dreams...they wore me out, as they lasted most of the night.
Year's first kitteh.
I haven’t started calendars yet although Pat told me I needed to the minute he woke up! I have a lot of glasses to wash from last night.
Since I’m so short on rooms, I have only two calendars. I had one on the desk top, but I won’t be using that program any more, even though I really enjoyed the photos that I downloaded.
Good for Pat! Normally, I change the calendar pages the night before a new month, but for some reason, I changed the calendars this morning. I’m getting slow in my old age, I guess! ;o]
Fr. Negasi in Ethiopia says it’s still 2003 there. Weird stuff.
The year’s first kitteh reminds me of when I was working...I used to fall asleep at my cubby desk...that was so hard for me.
But this kitteh makes it funny to recall!
Whoa! Talk about a time warp!
So on September 1, they will begin 2004.
I put up January-April desk-size pages in the kitchen, but now it’s time to get the new calendars out of the bookcase and see what we’ve got.
Anoreth is up, but I don’t know about Bill or Tom. I’ve washed up from last night.
Freaky calendar...
There was a day when I washed up after almost every weekend. Not now. ‘Face doesn’t have to be the hostess at parties any more!
Mostly me is up. I may have to watch a Netflix this morning, since I’m not interested in the Rose Parade. I’ll get the highlights on the news this evening. As for football, well, it depends on which colleges are playing.
Nothing else is planned. Or unplanned.
New calendars are up, now. We didn’t get any Indian School calendars this year, or whatever Newt Gingrich’s thing was. That had nice photos of American historic sites.
We’re going to the bookstore when everyone’s dressed, and Bill and Tom can buy themselves calendars if they don’t like the free ones. I have wildlife pictures from the NRA for my room. January is a Musk Ox.
My dream is to have enough musk ox wool to knit a sweater, but that stuff is SOOO expensive, I just look at the pics and drool. I can imagine the softness and warmth, and know a sweater would be uber-warm.
The wool has to be warm to keep the little guys from freezing their tails off.
I thought of going to the store for some yogurt, but it’s too cold out to even consider. Besides...Monday is payday and I have to be out in it, anyway.
I can’t recall the last time I bought a calendar.
Also, I can’t figure out why it seems to always take me two posts to answer one of yours. :o|
I just noticed that I haven’t seem a frog around here lately.
All the frogs are in storage or on my walls, since that’s the only place I have for them.
Happy New Year, Thomas!
How is the new dog coming along?
Best stamp ever !
