"Mullen: Risk of War Rising on Korean Peninsula

The top U.S. military officer said Monday that the danger of war or hostilities on the Korean peninsula is rising, as North Korea warned that cooperation between its southern neighbor and the United States could trigger a nuclear war

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told troops in Baghdad that North Korea has upped the ante in its aggression against South Korea -- a pattern he said is tied to preparations for Kim Jong Il to pass power to his son.

All the more reason to push for open homosexuality in the military, eh Mike? Gotta have gays on ships and in the barracks ASAP, ‘cause everyone knows sodomy wins wars!

Yes, there should be lots of open homosexuality in the N. Korean military.
They are starving, might as well keep themselves busy somehow.

Why is Admiral Mullen wasting his time on Korea. Does he not have more important issues to deal with, like promoting open homosexuality in the military?

The North Koreans will hit our forward positions and naval vessels with nukes. This surprise attack will be followed up by human waves of attackers reaching Seoul in a day or two. Then we will be treated to parades of our vanquished soldiers being led into slave labor. “The Divine One” shall exercise a “mighty restraint” in dealing with the war by signing an early unconditional surrender.

Mullen is a sodomite and a disgrace to the nation. He has disregarded his oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

While the lower ranks suffer and die on the battlefield, this “admiral” and his ilk focus on political correctness and social engineering. They could care less about things that matter, like destroying the enemy. Civilian rule of the military does NOT mean bending over and taking it while they do whatever they want to the active force, Admiral Mikey Mullet-head. Take a clue from the US Marines, Mikey. Yeah. I bet the N. Koreans are quaking in their boots.

Crap.

They don't have that many nukes. What nukes they have are low-power. If they hit us with nukes, then we shall retaliate with nukes.

Seoul is built up considerably from 1950. It is a megalopolis, with suburbs running almost all the way to the DMZ. Infantry advancing in human waves will be cut down by artillery and aircraft, as the Iranians learned in the 1980-1988 war. To advance, you need artillery and tanks - combined arms fighting. Seoul will be a defender's paradise.

The South Korean Army is very good and very professional. The Viet Cong feared them more than the US Army. The Korean Military Academy turns out first rate officers.

The North would run into a buzzsaw and would be mauled.

This admiral has to nod towards President Tingod’s social engineering because if he doesn't, he'd be replaced by a real sycophant and incompetent.

How would General Mac Arthur handle the problem? I think we know and had he not been fired by Truman the whole problem may not exist at this time. As a side note, my dad was under his command and escaped to Australia with the navy after the Japanese took the Philippines. He never forgave Mac Aurthur for taking his furniture to Australia rather than taking Philippine fighters in his C-47 (or C-54)to escaoe the Japanese military my dads experince kind of soured my feelings for Gen’l Mac Arthur....

The problem with N Korea starting a nuclear war is that China and Japan will be very concerned (and rightly so) about nuclear radioactive fallout that does not respect national borders. This is especially so if the USA decides it must respond with nuclear weapons.

MAD only worked when both sides were rational and both sides have something to loose.

N. Korea is run by madmen and has virtually nothing to loose.

They do not need to advance in human waves, all they need to do is use a few nuclear weapons and follow that up by traditional artillery and some air bombing and naval operations.

The real question is would China invade N Korea to stop them prior to the USA doing anything dramatic. I think not. In fact I would wager if N Korea were to detonate a nuclear weapon on S Korea, that the next thing that would happen would be for China to warn the USA that it will respond with nuclear weapons to any nuclear weapons launched against N. Korea.

Until China is no longer willing to support N. Korea, N Korea will be able to do just about any military activity it wants and get a way with it. Look to history and read up on the USS Pueblo. The N Koreans are willing to start wars because their leaders are not afraid of having several hundred thousand of there people killed.

Ultimately China will need to take care of the N. Korean problem, because it is in their self interest. I can only hope that will be sooner rather than later.
