Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and some taxpayers advocacy groups ripped some of the energy provisions. McCain called the ethanol provision the Hawkeye Handout because senators from corn states such as Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) supported the provision.
The ethanol tax credit would cost about $6 billion in 2011. Taxpayers for Common Sense noted the Government Accountability Office found the credit duplicative of the current renewable fuels standard.

Corrupt, deaf and stupid. What the heck do they think November was all about?
Senators
Tom Coburn (Okla.)
Jim DeMint (S.C.)
Jeff Sessions (Ala.)
John Ensign (Nev)
And the retiring Voinovich.
The others have no excuse for voting FOR this Christmas Tree. The new Congress was ready to take it on righteously.

The stupid party just got rolled by Obama. Yet again, they cleverly negotiated to get both bad press and a bad deal!

I love how the media keeps calling this "the deal" and "the compromise" as if its the same thing they were talking about last week.
This is a NEW DEAL. A pork ridden stimulus bill with 70+ additions from what was originally already a bad deal to temporarily extend existing tax rates in exchange for a 13 month extension of the max 99 weeks unemployment and an increase in the death tax.

ETHANOL and everyone can see the price of cereal going up!
What is the main ingredient? Would it be “corn”?
These people are corrupt, deaf and stupid.
Lib Lie Slayer predicted this thing would be 8000 paghes (give or take 1000) and he’s going to be proved right.
13 *additional* months of unemployment bennies is unconscionable! Call it welfare for the able!

It's funny to see Voinovich's name listed with those others.
Voinovich voted against the bill because he thinks everybody's taxes should go up, lmao!
To: onyx; All
A vote on final passage could happen as soon as Tuesday if opponents agree to waive the 30 hours that must elapse after a vote to end a filibuster. Please EVERYONE call and email DeMint, Ensign, Sessions and Voinovich and ask them NOT to waive the 30 hrs. If they refuse it will push the vote to Wednesday and push the DREAM Act vote to next week--if at all. We MUST run out the clock on the DREAM amnesty disaster! Forget the tax cuts, or START or DADT. the DREAM scam would push this nation over the cliff.
