If a teacher were suing because Catholicism was their official religion and they wanted to go to the Holy Land to do stations of the cross, confession requirement and The Vatican for a month unpaid; do you think the DOJ would take a case out in the teachers defense?
I doubt it.
Plain and simple....This is Holder at the DOJ being a political partisan hack. This is not his jurisdiction. It is below his pay grade. It is political pasturing. It is abuse of power. If it were not please cite the cases where Holder played attorney for any other such trivial case.
The facts are that Obama and Holder like to be on retainer for terrorists rights and politically correct partisan stances.
When someone (from the left) spouts out “separation of church and state”,
what they really mean is
“we seek to use the power of the state to suppress Christianity”
You are absolutely correct. A substitute teacher for a MONTH would disrupt any sort of education process.
Well said and valid points.
I am not a fan of islam in the least. But I also know that if this doesn’t get defended then the precedent will have been set and THAT will have unforseen consequences for Christians and Jews.
I also realize that I’m sounding very liberal to some of you, but I assure you that I’m not.
I just understand that when a liberal school board places ‘reasonable controls’ on religious exercise that these are also the same people who prattle on about ‘reasonable and common sense controls’ on Second Amendment freedoms.
It is *always* better to err on the side of liberty.
Time to charge the DOJ with fraud. Justice is the last thing they are interested in.
Holder needs to go directly to jail.
Granada history sites mention Moors living in the Spanish Granada as late as 1568, but a suppression following an unsuccessful rebellion by Muslims and their allies was the end of the Moors there. 1609 (during the Inquisition) is the date I've found for the final expulsion of the seditious "conversos" from Spain.
They saw it as a security thing: expelling the Moors and their political allies. No reason for it, of course. Probably just xenophobia. (Scratches head in bewilderment.)
My apologies for the misinformation. I was trying to impart a high-level analogy and seemed to have failed in the details.
The Church should not exercise temporal power (elected or appointed secular office, or the force of arms) or be conflated with the State; the State should keep its cotton-pickin' fingers off the Church.
Chorus of Amens all around, I hope!
That’s ridiculous. For one thing, she has her entire lifetime to do it, and she also doesn’t have to go during the big pilgrimage season. Ms Muslim just saw an opportunity to get preferential treatment, which is what Islam is all about. And our pro-Muslim government, which would proclaim Islam as the state religion if it thought it could get away with it, agrees.
One of the five pillars. To visit a segregated city that imposes a death penalty for any uppity or sneaky non-muslims who'd dare enter.
That's the utmost of intolerance.
Could another bigot get a week off to go to a klan rally?
That came out with today's decision that a community cannot do away with straight ticket voting by party affiliation on ballots for local elections because it disenfranchised black voters, who are going to vote Democrat, and it disenfranchises black candidates because only black candidates only win in that community when they are Democrats.
Meanwhile black Republican candidates are ignored because identity politics means nothing when it doesn't serve the Democrat Party.
Muzzies don’t go to church so this is fine in a lib’s mind.
Is it only on Fridays?
Muslims go by a lunar calendar which does not sync with the solar calendar. Consequently, their holidays occur a couple of weeks earlier in every following year. The Hajj dates occur in August starting in 2020. Since this is a lifetime rather than yearly requirement, she can wait until she is either no longer employed in that school, or when the date has shifted to when school is not in session.
Alternately, she can transfer to a school that observes Muslim holidays.
Whether you sound liberal or like Islam, or not is not the bottom line point.
Please kindly show me other cases of Holder and the DOJ taking up defense for a local out of his jurisdiction- issue. Examples being that AG Holder and the power of the DOJ has intervened in any other religious rights,. local issue.
If AG Holder and the DOJ did indeed defend local religious rights of any other religion; whether (Jimmy Buffetism or Catholicism) your err with the side of liberty statement of theory would be feasible much less arguable.
Needless to say this is out of Holder’s jurisdiction no matter what your personal thoughts on Islam or liberal’s were.
Until you do this Holder is a political partisan hack gone astray with his radical ideals. Simply put, it is called abuse of power and I don’t think anyone should err on the side of this.
Pina Colada’s are permitted in the Buffetism faith; hiding the salami is only encouraged on Saturday.
I think you have a strong case to present to the AG Holder justice dept. for paid time off from your occupation. As the most important ritual of DCCism also requires you to pick up the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders during tryouts week when they are let go because they weighed 119.5 lbs and are deemed to fat. This is the consolation form of the Holy religion/
If the school district had to reinstate and pay out damages, I would as a resident of that district file my own lawsuit.
What’s the current status of this case?
