LATE BREAKING - SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Police: Springfield, IL Mayor Tim Davlin found dead in his home.

Police Chief Robert Williams says officers responded to a 911 call shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday at Davlin’s home and found the Democratic mayor dead.
Williams declines to offer details about how Davlin died, saying the investigation is in its infancy.
And then...
n October, the State Journal-Register in Springfield reported that Davlin owed the federal government nearly $90,000 in unpaid income taxes and liens had been filed against his home. The mayor then blamed the problem on a dispute with the IRS over taxes owed on investments he cashed in to buy the home.
I think he has a good excuse.

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin was found dead in his home at 2604 Apple Creek Drive this morning, authorities have confirmed.
Springfield Police Chief Rob Williams said authorities found the mayor deceased after going to the home about 9:10 a.m.
Davlin did not show up for a court-ordered appearance this morning in a pending estate case involving his late cousin.
Davlin reportedly died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, but authorities would not confirm that at a news conference this morning.

He was late to a hearing for his late cousin and has now earned the ‘late’ designation.

Perhaps he did it now, so that his family could inherit all of his estate instead of giving the majority to the federal government.
It should be noted that after a hard day looting the taxpayer this politician was just shot!
Seriously, this was a man’s life...
Clearly, he made some bad choices and who hasn’t...but, to somehow take joy in the fact that he was at such a low point he could not see any redemption or reason to go on, isn’t really something about which joy should be taken.
Sometimes...I just don’t get how you people think...there is so much more to life than political sides. And democrat or republican...this is really a tragedy.

Actually, it looks like the selfish ba$tard left his family with THIS:

That doesn't work. A decedent's estate must pay off its creditors to the extent the estate has the assets to do so and the creditors file their claims in a timely manner, usually within six months after death.
