Yep. The votes must not have been there for Pence. I can't think of any other reason to not want that job. Boehner is going to be a problem.
Whoever the Republican Speaker is, he's going to be attacked. You just can't make it as easy for the opposition (read:media) as Boehner has thus far. Pence is a lot more media savvy and media competent.
Jockey-ing for 2012 looks like Pence is coming up on the inside of Palin

He'd make a good VP.
