President Obama has delayed the most significant staff shuffle of his presidency until after New Year’s — but the changes may be more sweeping than anticipated and could include the hiring of high-profile Democrats defeated in the midterms.

David Plouffe, Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, who will become a senior adviser to the president as early as the first week of January, is perhaps the most significant addition to Obama’s staff. He is expected to take an expansive new role including running the embattled White House press and messaging operations, people with knowledge of the situation told POLITICO.

“It’s harder to get his time on it” during the lame-duck session, a senior administration official said of Obama. “I think he’ll think about a lot of this on vacation.”

The problem with this regime starts at the top. Nothing done anywhere else will make up for the fact that Obama wants to be a Hugo Chavez / Fidel Castro style dictator. People are catching on and it will only get harder for him to shovel the excrement after the GOP takes over the house and starts investigating him.

The loss of Obamacare in the courts was a massive setback for Comrade Obama. Obamacare was supposed to be the lever he used to create his socialist utopia. He will never get a new Obamacare through the house. And without socialized health care he will lose control of the mob.

I hear you. My impression, however, is that it’s become impossible for Skinner & Co. to block or delete all criticism of Obama. Since he caved on taxes for the ‘rich’ DU outrage has mushroomed out of control, and they can’t put that genie back into the lamp. It was news to me, however, that for the most part DUers despise Gibbs also. There’s just a level of swarmyness that transcends party lines, I guess. ;)
