The cold now sweeping over Europe and other parts of the globe are due to natural cycles, says German meteorologist Thomas Globig. He points out that the first 2 weeks of December in Britain have been the coldest since the last little ice age 350 years ago, and claims some climate models have criminally under-estimated solar influence on climate and that we ought to expect colder winters, and expanding Arctic ice in the years ahead.
Some climate forecasts will have to be thrown in the dustbin.
All the talk and hype among the clueless masses have been, and still is, about global warming due to human emissions of CO2. Will the temperature rise be 2°C, 4°C or 10°C? Will we be able to avert the climate catastrophe?
Yes, it all sounds like a really bad B-rated movie. But its not its all junk science produced by green activists. Ignore it. Dr Benny Peiser here brings our attention to an essay posted at wetter.t-online.de here.
The talk of this essay is not about warming, but of drastic cooling. According to wetter.info:
The year 2010 will be the coldest in ten years for Germany, says Thomas Globig of the Meteomedia weather service in a discussion with wetter.info.
Now its sure: temperatures in Germany this year have averaged 8.1 °C, or 0.2°C below the long-term measured average of 8.3°C. Im afraid that by the end of the year, we are going to end up much lower, says Globig.
Us sceptics know that climate goes in cycles. Back in the 60s and 70s Europe got a lot of snow. Then it got milder due to man-made global warming! all the government funded scientists opportunistically chimed in. But lo and behold, its getting colder again. People have been caught off guard says Globig.
Why is it getting cooler?
Globig attributes it to natural cycles: mainly the large-scale changes in the air flow over the Atlantic and fluctuating solar activity. There are Lows near the Azores and Highs in the North Atlantic, which means cold Arctic air is getting pumped down across Europe. The weather situation has been turned up on its head, says Globig.
Oh but this is all due to mans disruption of the weather, the alarmists will tell you. Its actually abnormal! Not so, says Globig:
This change in the so-called North Atlantic Oscillation is completely normal - only that they are difficult to forecast in detail. With storm Kyrill in 2007, it was the peak of air mass flow from the warmer Atlantic into the European region.
Globig points out:
Since then, the weather over the Atlantic has gotten calmer.
Calmer weather over the Atlantic? Time for the climatologists to bring their crystal balls in for a major recalibration. Their crackpot models predicted just the opposite.
The NAO has switched. That means we ought to expect more cold winters in the years ahead. Thats right forget warming. Ignore all the morons in the mainstream media.
These low temperatures could continue for a few years, maybe decades. Even icier winters cant be ruled out. This has occurred before in the past, and has to do with natural climate changes, says Globig. We could even be at the start of a little ice age, the probability is there.
It has to do with solar activity, according to wetter-t-online.de:
It has gone past its high point of its 200-year high-phase and will decrease over the coming decades. Around the year 2040/2050, scientists calculate there will be a new so-called solar minimum, that means much less feed-in of solar energy into the Earths atmosphere.
And when that happens, it means colder times ahead. And that means colder poles, which means expanding Arctic ice. Like Joe Bastardi, and probaly hundreds, if not thousands, of meteorologists, Globig thinks so too.
I find it quite plausible that Arctic ice will expand considerably over the next year, says Globig. The influence of solar activity on climate has been criminally under-estimated.
We will really know what is in store for us in the next five to seven years, Globig believes. Indeed one thing appears to be very probable for meteorologists: We will have to throw some climate forecasts into the dustbin.
Today, I can practically tell who gets their longterm forecasts from whom. I went to a home & garden center today to buy a snow shovel they were all sold out. The next shipment? At the end of January! How much worse can you get?
Tomorrow I will call the headquarters of this home & garden center to see if I can find out where they are getting their forecasts. Ill bet you they are getting them from the warmist DWD German Weather Service.
Update: Lets throw this in, too! http://www.populartechnology.net/2010/12/1000-references-of-global-cooling.html (h/t Climate Scam)
Someone call Peanut, he was 40-years early and now’s his chance. LOL
Don't look for this to show up in your local news outlets.
Oh fur cryin’ outloud ...
can anyone say...
V-8 and V-12 engines for EVERYBODY, and $1/gallon for gas.
We can turn this ice age around.
The unraveling of the scam continues.
Death, Taxes and the Weather.. no getting around ‘em..
Looks like we got a good sized dose of wet&moist headed into the West Coast via Pineapple Express .. or so the forecasters are saying.. could be some real heavy stuff in areas..
From experience I'd have to say no.

Hmmmm, so we are back to global cooling now. Too bad I threw away my leisure suit, bellbottoms, and pet rock....dang.
A turbocharger under every hood!
My brother called from St. Louis and I told him the temp and he was ready to hop on the plane and escape their weather...was at 5 above zero...wind chill was much lower.
I just had this discussion with a liberal at the gym.. Ii is 18 degrees here , when the norm is around 40 and he is still crying global warming
Go to this thread and look at the pictures of weather stations next to various heat sources.
Actually, that is a very good idea. The colder weather limits growing seasons and reduces crop yields.
Higher CO2 levels will not have an impact on the global temperature, solar output from the sun dominates global climates we are now finding out, but it can stimulate plant growth enough to offset some of the negative effects of the shorter, colder growing season on crop yields.
CO2 emissions are our friend, assuming we wish to prevent wide spread famine due to the reduced agricultural output from the colder, shorter growing seasons.
Volcano winter. No, I can’t say Eyj-whatever. ;-)
That’s because global warming leads to climate change, which can mean colder weather .... Duhhhhh ( sorry but I’ve actually heard this reply before)
I submit tha Global Warming, or Anthropomorphic Climate Change, or whatever be the nomenclature du jour, is based on the same “science” as evolutionism.
My new desktop background!!!
No - I took a poll last week and it's pretty much unanimous - we're all glad you threw away your leisure suit.
> Ii is 18 degrees here , when the norm is around 40 and he
> is still crying global warming
Logic and observation have no effect on a true believer.
Our local forecast has 90% rain and heavy rain at times friday saturday and sunday , should be a real snow maker
Back around July or August someone predicted that Britain would have the coldest winter in a 1000 years. I wish I could remember who it was, but I do know for sure it wasn’t that idiot algore.
Thanks for the ping.
If the sun is going to be decreasing in activity, that means it’s going to start expanding, and the planet doesn’t have very long.
Is that what they’re implying? Because the surface of the sun already hasn’t been active for the previous 11+ years.
Just goes to show you can’t fix stupid.

Don’t be too quick to guess that we’re entering a new ice age. Here’s the logic.
Think about a greenhouse. A greenhouse is a little warmer than the average temperature of the ambient air. However, temperature fluctuation is moderated. That is, when it is cold outside, a greenhouse will only get cool. When it is hot outside, the greenhouse will only be warm.
The opposite of a greenhouse effect is like what is observed on the surface of the Moon. With no atmosphere, there is no greenhouse effect at all. So when something is in the shade, it becomes intensely cold, but when illuminated by the Sun, it becomes intensely hot—and very quickly. There is no moderation.
The atmospheric blanket that surrounds the Earth is called the thermosphere. Most of our atmosphere is in the thermosphere, but the two are not identical. The thermosphere is the part of our atmosphere that traps, and *moderates* heat.
Just like a greenhouse.
Mysteriously, the size of the thermosphere reduced considerably.
“The collapse happened during the deep solar minimum of 2008-2009a fact which comes as little surprise to researchers. The thermosphere always cools and contracts when solar activity is low. In this case, however, the magnitude of the collapse was two to three times greater than low solar activity could explain.”
That is, we suddenly lost a LOT of the Earth’s greenhouse effect.
So think about the Moon. With a loss of greenhouse effect, what we notice is the loss of *moderation* in the weather.
In effect, hotter summers and colder winters. Higher highs and lower lows.
This means that it is unlikely that we will quickly move into a roasting or freezing world. Sure, summers will be unusually hot, but it will be balanced with winters that are unusually cold.
That is, of course, if the thermosphere would stay at its radically reduced size. So that is what matters. No guarantees for the thermosphere doing about anything.
Because we don’t really know how it works too well.
LOL. Seriously, even if all the lefty nutters did an about-face and decided that that we’re in for man-made global cooling instead of warming, some politician would just find a way to use it as another excuse for more regulation (and a money-making scam). Everything is an excuse to enact more regulation, for politicians (and that includes many on the “right”, these days). They wouldn’t have an excuse to get paid if they just did what they’re supposed to-defend the country and protect our borders-and not a single other thing. But oh how wonderful life could be if they just left us the heck ALONE.
And it is moving south...Yikes!!
It would be hard to believe he (Graham) has not been made aware of the what the green movement wants to accomplish. This whole mess is just that. Has he waded through the issue carefully. Perhaps he has but wants to create jobs.
