Omnibus bill from 'League of Looters' a sign 2012 is here

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) have issued statements about the Omnibus Spending Bill that runs more than 1,924 pages of legislative language. Outrage will follow in some quarters because as usual, Congress has loaded this bill with billions in pork attached to 12 annual appropriations bills totaling $1.1 trillion. This bill is a sign to the GOP—both a warning and an opportunity—that 2012 has already arrived.

DeMint said, “President Obama and Democrats have apparently learned nothing from this November’s election. This nearly 2,000-page omnibus filled with thousands of earmarks shows they are still determined to ram through as much big-government spending as they can in this lame duck session.”

From the Senate floor, McCain addressed remarks to President Barack Obama. “Mr. President, I will have much more to say about this bill later this week. I assure my colleagues—we will spend a great deal of time talking about this bill and the outrageous number of earmarks it contains.” McCain also said “not a single spending bill” has been debated—Congress simply lumped all the money bills into one gigantic omnibus because, “[T]he majority decided that they just didn’t feel like doing a budget this year…”

McCain won’t be the only one tracking those earmarks. Public watchdog groups, bloggers and fiscal conservatives in Congress will track them. The US Report skimmed the FY 2011 Omnibus Appropriations Act early Wednesday morning. Billions and billions of taxpayer dollars are committed and the language is frequently unclear. For instance, an agency head and his deputy have discretionary power over more than $7 million for “necessary salaries and expenses.” That’s within a $28 million budget. Doesn’t that seem like a large percentage of an overall budget? [ ... ]

We’re looking at one of those “last straw” moments.

Talk about adding insult to injury to insult.

No kidding. These elitists need to get their come uppance with pork pies in their faces. It would be worth the arrest to smash one in Harry Reid's ugly mug.

Read the bill, call for quorum calls every hour, filibuster it to death, file amendments and finally, if the votes favor passage, walk and let the Commies pass it by themselves. I believe also that at least one PUB must be present for a vote to be taken. If so, a walkout might prevent a vote.

The rules were changed means the rules are changed. Go to the floor and get in Dingy Harry’s face. Intimidate him, make him mad, induce appoplexy, induce stroke.

Disrupt, disrupt disrupt. Speak loudly, even yell over the top of every democrat who comes to the floor. Make comments about their drunken wives. Slander their grand children.

Generally, destroy the alleged decorum already badly broken by the disgusting procedure changes. Make the Rat’s lives miserable and make them mad as hell.
