White House Calls on Religious Leaders to Help Push DREAM Act Over the Finish Line
Fox News Latino ^ | December 15, 2010

Posted on 12/16/2010 10:31:51 AM PST by La Lydia

... the White House is again pushing for final passage of the Dream Act, hosting a conference call with religious leaders who are hoping to drive the deal home before everyone on Capitol Hill heads home for the holidays...According to Fox News producers on Capitol Hill, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., does intend to bring up the DREAM Act during this lame duck session.

So, while lawmakers on the Hill scramble to get everything done, the White House put together another in a series of conference calls on the DREAM Act. Rabbi Jack Moline, from Congregation Agudas Achim in Alexandria, VA says he has been working the phones on this for a while. "I have both personally and publicly called on Senators Warner and Webb to support his act. They were on the fence for a little while," Moline admitted on the call. "Have we done enough? If we had done enough we wouldn't be having this call. It's one of the reasons we're having this call."

Heather Higgenbottom from the White House Domestic Policy Council said the president is working the phones, pushing senators to vote in favor of the DREAM Act whenever it does come up for a vote and also told reporters that Defense Secretary Gates has written to the sponsors of the act...to show his support.

And in perhaps a final appeal for senators to vote in favor of the DREAM Act, Dr. Joel Hunter from A Church Distributed in Northland, FL, implored senators to be fair in their vote saying, "...don't punish the kids for something their parents did."

Even though Reid plans on bringing up the DREAM Act, it's looking less likely there will be enough time for it to get through.

The Obama-trons and other anti-American scum know this is their last chance to radically change the US population and pave the way for Democrat victories for decades or forever. When the new Congress gets sworn in on January 6th no more immigration amnesties will pass

This so called Dream Act is a scam. Illegal immigrants are eligible to apply for it up to age 30. And any application you make (however ridiculous) means you cannot be deported while your application is being processed which can take 5-10 years. There will be tons of fraud and lies and millions of young illegal aliens will flood in here to take advantage of this Dream Act

I don’t care if your law breaking, identity stealing illegal alien parents brought you here at age three or age sixteen. That is your tough luck and go blame your law breaker parents. Just get the heck out. I don’t want you taking university slots from American citizens and legal immigrants.

Why do I get the nasty feeling that Glenn Beck’s ecumenical push through the ‘restored blackrobed brigade’ will be enlisted to play in this dance?

The progressives are looking for any way to divide the nation, especially the nation of god fearing people. If the progressives can fabricate a deep enough division between the revival Glenn is seeking, with his ‘restored blackrobed brigade’, and the catholic in name only and Jim Wallis type ecumenical deadsouls, they might just get enough strife to get some violence out of it! In that sense, Glenn’s ‘restored blackrobed brigade’ is a big target to create even greater division among the people, even the people not usually given to outright confrontation.

How disgusting! What an insult to the military and to those doing a decent job in colleges.

Valid refugees languish by the thousands in God forsaken places waiting to get in and these trash Dems want to reward illegals with all the benefits of life here???!!

These Dems are absolutely immoral! They need more voters and more cannon fodder for their stupid wars and more students to brainwash in colleges.

I wonder what kind of military service they are dreaming up? The loyal fighters of Ali Bama?

Any so-called “Religious Leader” who values the rights of Criminal Illegal Aliens over the rights of American Citizens and Legal Immigrants...I hope those leaders end up in a very hot after-life

None of these “leaders” seem to give a hoot of the Americans who are victimized by Illegal Aliens: Crime, loss of jobs and livelihood....and DREAM Act Illegal Alien Amnesty will keep Citizen children out of college at the expense of Illegal Alien lawbreakers.

The children of American Citizens and Legal Immigrants did not break any laws....why are they being punished for the sins of Illegal Aliens
