Officers will start random bag inspections on the sprawling Washington subway system, the Washington Metro Transit Police said on Thursday, a week after a man was arrested for making bomb threats to the rail system. Metrorail police officers plan to randomly select bags before passengers enter subway stations and they will swab them or have an explosives-sniffing dog check the bags, according to the Metro police.

“May I see your Warrant officer?”
Not long before they use Porn Scanners at school entrances.
Better check those pink Dora bags for suspicious snack-like substances.
Good to know these brave heroes are protecting us.
Expect a reply, “Your papers, please.”
Instead of TSA and bag checks why not just close the borders?
A huge difference.
One word: Profiling
The lack of a willingness to profile causes them to resort to random searches. Random searches will cause more people to choose to drive instead. More people driving cars will cause Global Warming. Therefore, not profiling is causing Global Warming. Get the word out to your liberal friends!
Because the aim isn't to be effective. It's to crap on Americans.
Exactly the right question.
You must be one of those crazy, tea-partier people or something.
That’ll work okay until the first time they search a Muslim-then there’ll be hell to pay.
Nah, they’ll just exempt the Muslims. Or have them “search” themselves.
Another installment on the price we pay for having Muzlims in our country.
You mean they are going to subvert the constitution once more and conduct searches without warrants?
looks as if members of the bar will have a decade of full-employment filing Fourth Amendment cases
Irish grandmas better leave their weed and firearms at home, or wear burkas. Muslims are exempt.
>>May I see your Warrant officer?<<
Precisely. Until we are under Martial law, this is totally and utterly unconstitutional.
"May we look in your bag, sir?"
Seriously, we need to treat this as “the dinner roll”, or we are in BIG trouble. I’m talkin’ “USSR” or “Nazi Germany” trouble. I’m not kidding, nor do I think I am exaggerating the real risk here.
The Dinner Roll
Where’s the ACLU and Amnesty Int’l. This kind of unconstitutional Nazi crap must stop now. These are the same sons of bitches who are attacking Arizona for trying to reduce the number of undocumented democrap voters.
Well at least they aren’t being fascists by monitoring phone calls to known terrorists overseas.
“Metrorail police officers plan to randomly select bags before passengers enter subway stations”
Before entering the stations ?
How far away from the station entrance ?
Fascism IS alive and well in the United States of America. “Your papers please!”. (Presidents excluded)
I really would have a problem with them examining my bag, and I would refuse. In fact, it would be nice to actually stand at the entrances and hand out 5x7 sheets of paper with the fourth amendment clearly printed in large font and hand it to people as they approach the station.
They can get away with this in NYC because they have basically banned guns there.
the subway has its own cops? and they are searching people?
yea... going great. welcome to the socialist state.
as long as we all continue to fund their endeavors, expect more.
The death of public transportation begins
Wow, I quit a job once because I couldn’t stand the “unannounced bag checks” they had. Times have changed.
They won’t search muslims.
Laura Ingraham summed it up: “Political correctness requires our homeland security officers to pretend they don’t know what a terrorist looks like”...regardless of what their common sense tells them.
She’s right, assuming that they have “common sense”.
We could have a lot of fun with this.
That goes against the spirit of the egalitarian new world order.
What a fu@%!ng joke these anti-freedom demorats are.
1939 all over again...
I have a better idea...kick all the muzzies out of the USA..problem solved.
Unfortunately, the truth is that the united States have been forced to be a part of Washington, D.C.
