Posted on 12/17/2010 8:25:06 AM PST by Islander7
Quick thinking and a cool head!
Alyssa Gutierrez bravely defended her home and her life with her Mom's rifle. She was not going to end up, if she could help it, another victim of criminal violence. She first tried to hide from the criminal intruders, but when they discovered her, she ran quickly to a bedroom and retrieved her Mom's little pink single shot bolt action 22 caliber rifle to defend her home and life.
Throw her in jail for Illegal possesion of a firearm. /sarcasm
Mrs jimfree is not a fan of fire arms but the piece mentioned might complement her pink computer and pink computer case.
Nice. Ironic the punks wanted to steal the guns from the home and got backed down by an 11 yr old armed with one - a pink .22!

“Thas jus a single shoot rifle man”
“And do YOU wsnt to be the one that dies?”
Good for her, and I’m glad the cop happened to see them jusp the fence.
Bad news - the little girl said one of the thugs was armed - I think we can imagine how this could have turned out....

I like where your heads at.
If I had a three-armed burglar in my house, I’d probably shoot him, too.
“and got backed down by an 11 yr old armed with one - a pink .22!”
Ultimate fail. Gonna be hard to live that one down in the hood! LOL
Cool. Sounds like I’m 5 yrs. behind the curve on teaching my daughter to shoot, she’s 16. Me, Mom has 3 guns, Dad, has none but I’ll let him borrow mine in an emergency. LOL
Yeah, shoot 'em all before they get special protections and rule us all.
You have just made my day. That was funny
Dad, has none but Ill let him borrow mine in an emergency. LOL

Reminds me of time I picked up on an interview with G. Gordon Liddy and (I believe) Don Imus.
Liddy was talking about different guns in his house and the questioner kind of slid in Liddy’s ‘felon status’, to which Liddy (kind of) replied..’Oh, no sir, I own absolutely NO guns, but Mrs Liddy has a handsome collections of them’.
You go, girl!
Some local gun range needs to give that girl a set of lessons and range time with her mother’s permission of course. She is a brave girl and needs to be better prepared for next time.
Supposing she is a citizen of New Mexico, regardless of age, the following should apply to her:
Art II, Sec. 6. [Right to bear arms.]
No law shall abridge the right of the citizen
to keep and bear arms for security and
defense, for lawful hunting and recreational
use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing
herein shall be held to permit the carrying
of concealed weapons. No municipality
or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident
of the right to keep and bear arms.
This is why citizens own guns. To defend against the bad guys. Congrats to the 11 year-old and the parent who trained her. Good parenting if I say so myself.
Punked by a pre-teen with a pink predator popper.
Glad to oblige. Mrs jimfree is a 59 y/o girly girl. I found the pink computer and case for her. Thought it might be just the right thing. A pink rifle is a step beyond but we shall see.
You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lib’s didn’t critize the mother for not having the rifle locked up so the girl couldn’t get to it.
Destined for interned greatness.
Should be internet, not interned.... arghh...
so im assuming NM is an open carry state?
She loves it!
I’m looking for the equivalent sized rifle in airsoft for some initial training.
A .22 doesn’t work so well in the basement... :)
LOL!! I would think not!
“Quick as a wink, you’re in the Pink”
I hope to challenge some of the ‘laws’ that there are here fairly soon, like this one:
or perhaps the authority/validity of the “no weapons” signs on city- and county-courthouses.
single shot no less.
SO is Virginia where i currently reside. Thank God for that.
I lived in Texas most of my life and it’s a shame it isnt an OC State.
Aquila Colibri ammo. .22 primer powered only. No gunpowder.
From a Ruger 10-22, all you hear is the “click” of the trigger & the hammer fall, then the bullet hit the target. I have a .22 cal bullet trap. I use it in the garage. Garage is only 16 ft. long. (10 x 16 single car)
Enough power to cause the 10/22 to cycle?
(It’s Aguila BTW, I just looked it up)
>I lived in Texas most of my life and its a shame it isnt an OC State.
So then, because NM and TX have reciprocity with CCWs could I, say, take my PS-90 ‘concealed’ if it were wrapped up in a cloth or somesuch?
When my granddaughter turned eleven, she received the Marlin/Glenfield tube fed .22 rifle I had refinished the stock on, the rifle her dad learned to shoot with. Her next rifle and a new pistol will be a bit higher caliber (9mm) and will be hers alone!
I already have a lever .38/,357 rifle for her, when her dad sees fit to allow her to practice with it. It even has the ‘Red Rider’ sadle ring!
Which, though, does make it safer for training.
Get an air rifle. I'm not fond of toy guns, and I really want people to know that real guns cause damage, destruction, and death. Air rifles are good for killing the four-legged variety of rat, cans, and targets. Kids can understand how hard a metal can is, and how much softer their own skin is. It makes the point that the weapon in NOT a toy.
They work fine in basements and longish living rooms or hallways, too.
That’s another reason I like the Colibri ammo.
They get to feel/see/handle real live ammo.
Physical size is an issue for the solution to the training problem.
I’m with you on the “toy gun” issue.
However, we solve it in a different way in our house.
There are no toy guns in our house. Every one of them is [treated like it is] real and loaded. We treat nothing “gun shaped” as if it is a toy.
BTW, a good airsoft gun WILL kill a bird, and should be treated just like you’d treat a pellet gun.
I think someone can look forward to something extra in her allowance this week.
If you get captured by a 11 year old with a pink rifle it means you get raped extra times in prison.
“Last year, I bought my daughter (now 10 y.o.) a .22 bolt action with a pink stock. It is child-sized and made by Crickett Firearms”
If you can still find a Wally World that sells rifles, they used to go for $99.00. (I wanted to get my nephew one)
Oh, no! It CAN'T be true! They wouldn't sell them at KB toys if they could REALLY kill! /S
I think you have to be a little closer, for the Airsoft, and they probably* won't kill a human.
*IF you aren't too close, and also DON'T hit a critical spot...
Putting out eyes and such isn't all that good, either. My little brother missed the lesson of air guns doing real damage until he put the muzzle of the air pistol I gave him for his 10th birthday to the palm of his hand and pulled the trigger because he couldn't see the dust spouts where he was missing the target. He hasn't forgotten THAT lesson. X-cut on the back of his hand to remove the BB from just under the skin, tetanus & antibiotic shots, and bandages on both sides of his hand. He knew better than to do something like that with a “real” gun. Then he learned the hard way that air guns are real guns.
