If Michelle Obama wears something, the rest of America usually follows suit, such is the level of interest in her sartorial selections. Ever since Mr O entered the presidential race, Mrs O has become fashion blog fodder and the inspiration for a book about her style - not to mention the inspiration for glamorous mothers the world over.
So news that Michelle Obama wore vintage for tonights broadcast of TNTs Christmas in Washington, will come as a blow to all the adoring designers who cross their fingers and prey Obama will choose them for her next big photo opportunity, and all the women who rush out to buy her latest outfit.

Bwahahahahahaha!!! Where to start?! Anyhoo, it's about an old black thrift store dress (which cost approx. $2500) she wore to the "Christmas in Washington" tv special--it's an AP photo at the link so I can't repost it here but she actually looks pretty good in the dress (although I don't like the hemline, looks raggedy). Posted this because Drudge has a related story on his page under "Michelle wears $2,500 'thrift-store dress' to Christmas concert..." (that story also has a different AP photo of her in the dress).

Something very symbolic in the fact that Michelle buys a second hand dress......and pays $2500 for it.
Paying extravagantly for secondhand merchandise - that is the American Way in 2010.

Women here are wearing down coats and boots. Michelle’d look pretty funny wearing that in Hawaii.

. Obama is also credited for hugely boosting the market value of American high street brand J.Crew - currently being sold for $3 billion - through her tireless support of the label.

Why do black people wear black? It is not a good color for them. Yet it seems to be their favorite color. It has the effect of making them look lighter skinned than they are, sort of like when people wear white to show off their tan.

The full court press of propaganda by the media, inflicted upon the masses, is laughable when you begin to see through it, and thanfully more folks are getting the clue daily.
A gilded wookie in a $2500 dress is still a wookie. It amazes me that the MSM still insists on producing these types of articles, when all it produces is derision and laughter.. It is akin to Hitler's "Big Lie" in it's audacity and wrongness.

Actually, I thought the dress was a lot more attractive and appropriate than what she usually wears. I thought that it was appropriate in this economy to purchase from a thrift store until I saw the price tag, then I thought it was vintage Michelle.

As usual, that wookie doesn’t wear sleeves.
She is simply the most revolting woman to have ever been First Lady. She makes Eleanor Roosevelt look pretty.

I agree. I think the dress is gorgeous. Every once in a while, Michelle manages to dress appropriately. This is one of those times.
