The recent quick fade of the Deficit Commission was the latest reminder that America no longer seems to have the stomach for big challenges. There was a time – was it just a generation ago? – when Americans were legendary for doing vast, seemingly superhuman, projects: the Interstate Highway System, the Apollo Missions, Hoover Dam, the Manhattan Project, the Normandy invasion, the Empire State Building, Social Security.

True, but we have a lot of problems starting with the aerospace industry.
Yeah, but let me explain what’s wrong with that. Apple is based in California. But where are all those iPods, MacBooks, and iPads made? Not in California.

We are no longer a unified America. We’ve been Balkanized by multiculturalism and intimidated by cultural Marxism (political correctness.) Even our sovereignty is being undermined by politicians, bureaucrats and judges who want to impose world socialist government. The Constitution has been abandoned. We’ve become a ship of state without a compass.
Because we believe we have a RIGHT to sit on our asses and have Obamamoney poured over us....and unemployment beats working when you have no skills to begin with!
Apples and oranges. Though I am sure the permitting process and time for the Empire State Building was shorter than it would be today, even without the politics and sideshows.
We have become a Godless nation.
God ejected from public life. Prayer. Bible.
Adultery acceptable.
No Fault Divorce.
Abortion.
Homo Sexuality to be accepted and approved of?
Can the Creator God Bless a nation like this?
You can do something about this.
Accept the Christ of Christmas as Lord and Savior.
Panty-waistes. Liberalism. Socialism. White-guilt. Entitlements. Unions.
I could go on and on.
Our leaders are content to let us be followers. The Europeans want carbon tax, and the next thing you know, our government is trying to impose a carbon tax.
Aviation is a great example: Slowly but surely, every mandate the Europeans dream up eventually finds it’s way into the FAA mandates. Whether its noise abatements, certification programs, equipment requirement, and even phraseology.
Sadly, we no longer lead the world, we just acquiesce to the rest of the worlds demands.

We have not had a manufacturing economy for decades.
However, the people in this country that work for Apple, Google and Facebook are doing quite well.
And if that iPad were made in the USA, it would cost $1200 not $800.

For a Nation to come together to pursue a big goal, they have to share a idenity born out of common ideology and history. Our shared ideology used to be constitutional freedom and our common history was the founders of the Nation and the Christian values that gave birth to the nation. It was called the melting pot. Everyone inherited this American idenity added to their own family’s unique history.
Now we are broken into multicultural foreign tribes to serve the interests of internationalists and socialists. We have no common ideology and no common history and there no common idenity. We don’t even have protected borders and citizenship anymore. Therefore, there is no common vision because we are no longer a real nation.

We do large projects still. America has set the standard and has help train the engineers of the world to spread these wonders around the world. We just ignore some or complain about the cost if there paid for with tax dollars. The Surge Barrier being built around New Orleans is a massive project. Many here complained that it was a waste of money. Several of the last stadiums are amazing. The bar to amaze has been set very high but the fact that I can type this and you can read it would be amazing to those build the Golden Gate Bridge and the Empire State building.
