LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - John Alan Conroy, 36, of Big Spring, Texas, pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon before U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings to one count of producing child pornography and one count of receipt of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
He faces a statutory sentence of 15 to 50 years in prison, a $500,000 fine and a lifetime of supervised release. Judge Cummings ordered a pre sentence report with sentencing to be scheduled after the completion of that report. Conroy has been in custody since his arrest in July 2010 on a related charge outlined in a federal criminal complaint.
According to court documents, in 2009, Conroy lived with a woman and her two young children, Jane and John Doe, in Big Spring. Jane Doe turned eight years old during that year, and John Doe turned 10 years old that year. During part of the year, Conroy was unemployed. The mother of the children worked during the day, and Conroy often was left in charge of Jane Doe.
Conroy had purchased a laptop computer in approximately 2007, and beginning some time in 2007 or 2008, started using it to search the Internet for sexually explicit images and videos of children. He downloaded and collected numerous images and videos depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, and stored the images on his computer and on various forms of storage media.
During 2009, when Jane Doe was seven years old, Conroy began showing her various images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Beginning in October 2009, Conroy began engaging in sexual contact with Jane Doe. Then, on December 27, 2009, Conroy used his Canon digital camera to produce sexually explicit videos of Jane Doe. The videos were produced in a residence in Big Spring.
The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Big Spring Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven M. Sucsy of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Lubbock, Texas, is in charge of the prosecution.

When and why did journalists start using “pleaded” instead of “pled”? You don’t say someone “bleeded” to death, they “bled” to death.
A Big Spring man has been indicted on more charges related to sex crimes. 37 year old John Alan Conroy was indicted on 3 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one of continuous sexual assault of a child. Those are in addition to federal charges of child pornography. We first told you about Conroy in August after he was arrested on both federal and state charges. He once lived near a Big Spring Daycare center and also was in the news last year after complaining of Salvation Army bellringers at the post office. If convicted on all charges, he faces several hundred years in prison.

Where are the men in the mother’s family to provide termination & disposal services free of charge??
Since this is Texas, he might end up sharing a cell with Bernie Ward the radical left-wing San Francisco radio host who is currently sitting in jail there for CP (although he merely collected the stuff and didn’t produce it). They put him in a Texas prison since they figured no one would know who he was there.
It was also my observation that there was absolutely _no_ mention of Bernie Ward in the MSM.
