I don't know what will happen in five or ten years or whether I'll still be around then. But, I am confident that as long as I am breathing I will respect and support our military as an institution.

I urge you to consider the alternatives.

I also know, as the mother of a straight, college age student, that being gay really isn't as looked down upon, as with the older generation

So the indoctrination DOES work! Desensitize the youth to what is a perverse lifestyle.

Yeah, and I spent a lot of years working in San Francisco, so I do have a perspective on the issue. Sick, sick, sick.

It would have happened one of these days. With the way the younger generation, hopped up on NEA propaganda, thinks about queers and queer marriage all of this is all but inevitable. Doesn’t make it easy to swallow though.

The FNC and reporters are reporting from a “postitive thing” perspective.

This is not “historic” this is a blood vote that will live in infamy.

The ONLY viable GOP candidate will be one who can pass the do ask do expell homosexuals litmus test.

if Palin can’t pass that then she has no place in the WH.

Perhaps you can answer my conjecture - will the most egregious examples just get fragged?

“If you look at the text of the actual bill; there not much to it. You just get one sentence saying that the particular law from 1993 is no longer valid. What does that mean, that the military will then be able to set its own commonsense policies about homosexuality? No, I don’t think they’ll let that happen.”

—And any time a gay isn’t promoted: cries of “Discrimination!”; Lawsuits; screeching Daily Kos headlines; protests in San Francisco...

This isn’t really about a groundswell of interest by gay people to serve the country,

I would amend gay "people" to gay "males". It is my unscientific observation as a current active duty Sailor in the USN that the overwhelming majority of gays serving today are female. I don't see gay men as finding the rigors of military service to be particularly attractive. Lesbians, on the other hand, tend to find the masculinity of military culture comfortable.

This whole debate over DADT has been centered around prancing, lisping "queens" turning our military into a haven for effeminate gay males while in reality, females are most affected by any policy regarding gays in the military. And while there are certainly gay males serving in the military, I know, I've served with some, there's a lot more lesbians.

From what I have seen of students, the acceptance of homosexuals is a joke and vastly over estimated.

Maturity changes heads of mush.

there is no national protection with homosexual remaining in the miliatry.

openly perverted and insane

Yup. Remember when we were growing up, homosexuality, transvestitism and other similar conditions were considered psychiatric disorders?

Another ramification of this is this: It's probably not only going to be homosexuals. Has anyone noticed how often transexuals, gender neutrals, transvestites and other groups are included under the umbrella of homosexuality?

This is just half a step away from open homosexuals in the military. All it takes is a rider amended to another bill quietly in the middle of the night.

Watch for it.

God also tells us not to condone these things. We are commanded to call this evil what it is and speak the truth.

I agree with this; but does that include laws of the land to enforce what we KNOW is morally correct, but which is a religious morality? And should that be applied to every sin?

I've always wondered why there wasn't more on an outrage about our military soldiers having "shore leave" -- adultery and fornication is a sin, but only certain types of adultery seem to be of concern in the military.

I oppose this repeal, because I see this as an attack on our culture by a militant group concerned more with changing normalcy than getting along or being allowed to serve.

Still, this was the inevitable result of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell". It used to be illegal to be gay in the military. When we changed that to "be gay, just don't let us know about it", we set up for today -- a generation of gay soldiers as "proof" it doesn't matter.

When in fact, the key I think was that gay sexual activity was banned; I think we need to still prohibit all gay sex between military members, and that will be the biggest fallout from repeal.

I wonder if the strong opposition to gays in the military would be seen if all we were talking about was lesbians.

After all, there’s little chance that a lesbian is going to have sex with our military men; there was actually more “impact” I would think with a heterosexuai female in that regard.

Plus, it seems the offensive sex act which causes the most medical issues, is a male act.

So then, what options does the situation leave us to consider? A rhetorical question, indeed, but one that must now be openly asked.

I know that which must be done, but most would never support the inevitably of that action necessary to stop the progression of America’s destruction.

The corruption, which proves itself a constant within our body politic, requires a direct unrelenting confrontation, and not via the ballot; but hardly a soul will ever take up the task. That refusal to sacrifice all for the greater good is why America is now certain to collapse as a nation—and deservedly so.

There are only four sins that “cry to heaven” for vengeance: Murder of the innocent; the unnatural vice of Sodom; the persecution of widows and orphans; and defrauding a worker of his just wages. This nation’s leaders are guilty of all four, the people refuse to take action—and God despises cowards.

I agree with you. The big news today is the fact that Dream died.

I think it’s a joke to keep accomodating every group, but that’s where we are. DADT was really weak anyway. A milquetoast policy passed by an immoral Pres. The real question is: Why are we talking about it? We need to get back to merit only. I don’t care ultimately if someone is gay. Can they do the REAL job??? If not, go be gay as a civilian.

Today: Dream died. That’s the headline. The republic turned back the real threaty. The distraction of DADT didn’t work.

1 IN 4 WOULD QUIT

I wouldn't doubt it for a min. We don't have enough problems retaining people after 5-6 tours in Iraq/Afghan, we need this to spark the exodus into overdrive.

Watch the military empty out. And I don't blame them one little bit.

Not knowing if someone's covertly studying you in the shower as a potential sexual partner is going to cause a LOT of problems. But like I said in another post upstream, they Soldiers/Sailor/Marines and Airmen will have gone through several bouts of brainwashing, propagandistic diversity training so eventually they'll be the ones to bend under the mental lash. And all under our tax dime.

Say good bye to the military that's supposed to kill people and WIN.

Be encouraged, FRiend ... The LORD of the Nations has this to say ...

Psalm 37

1 Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
7 Be still before the LORD
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy peace and prosperity.
12 The wicked plot against the righteous
and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.
14 The wicked draw the sword
and bend the bow
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose ways are upright.
15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken.
16 Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
17 for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the LORD upholds the righteous.

Unhinged is your sympathetic stance of dipping a penis into another man's anus and calling that normal and acceptable.

Your attempt at obfuscation by feigning righteous indignation of the word "faggot" is also amusing and quit hypocritical since you support the very act itself, faggotry. Care to explain your stance on all those “perks”.

I just don't see it as a sin that it is my place to decide.

God has called us to make righteous Judgments....you've renigged on the responsibility before Him to agree that Homosexuality is sin....in doing so you are opposing Him. Individuals cannot sit on the fence when it comes to making Judgment calls. By not making a Judgment call you are then siding with the Homosexual community.
