Muhammad Ali Visits Former Pres. Bush At Book Signing

Former President George W. Bush was happily stunned when legendary former heavyweight boxing champ Muhammad Ali stood facing him.

Bush was at a Barnes & Noble Booksellers store in Phoenix today signing his book, Decision Points when the Greatest entered (with the Secret Service) to shake hands.

With his famous comic humor, Ali sat next to Bush and held the book up as press and public snapped photos.

That’s what I’ve always loved about Bush, while he had his faults and decisions I disagreed with, he’s humble and doesn’t seem to think he’s important. That’s why he’s surprised when people like this show up to see him.

Can you see zero if Ali had shown up to see him? It would have been all about the won and not the champ.

When Ali was Ali I couldn’t stand him but I came to respect him after he retired. I was wrong about him. He was a great man who came of age before civil rights and being a white man I had no idea what it was like to be a black man in those days.

I'm not even sure he ever took 5 shots to the head period. Granted, he looks like an aged, professional boxer would, but in the ring, his accomplishments are impressive, regardless of what I think of his out of the ring persona.

Smokin’ Joe would beg to differ with you. He delivered far more than 5 shots to Ali’s head in almost every round of their three fights.
