WASHINGTON -- In a landmark vote, the Senate on Saturday ended the Clinton-era ban on gays serving openly in the military, marking a major triumph for President Obama, liberals and the gay community.

The final vote to end the Pentagon's 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy was 65-31, drawing support from eight Republicans.

The bill now goes to the White House for Obama's signature. He is expected to sign the bill into law next week, a senior White House aide told Fox News.

YES! And concomitantly putting the FEAR into the remaining RINOs, so they stop playing footsie with the Dems and start toeing the line. 2012 seems like along way off, but God willing it will come a lot quicker than these corrupt pols anticipate, and the worst of the bunch will get the BOOT!

We The People must launch an all-out campaign to get each of them voted out including her highness cry-baby Lisa who won’t be up for six years. Our fathers and grandfathers spent 8 long years defending our freedom during WWII and the Korean War. The least we can do is stay the course for 6 years until we can get these vermin out.

it’s ruined my Christmas for sure.

I don’;t trust the GOP or talk radio to actually grow some balls and tell the public what the homosexual agenda is doing, hopefully I am proved wrong.

I WEEP for my nation..and I SPIT on the FOOLS in the Pentagon that support this idiotic social experiment!
We have met the enemy and it is CONGRESS!!!!!

Fearing God, I likewise trust Him. A similar trust held me to country for my whole life, until today. It seemed important once to have served in the American military, even when the elites turned on it, forcing it to yield the field to an enemy it knew it had defeated. Though that trust as of today no longer exists. It has been broken on the bough of political correctness, never to be the same again.

One once joined the military and shared an elan, an esprit de corps that unified the American war fighter.

I wouldn´t join from this day forward and hence lend myself to the ultimately destructive ends of a homosexually imposed death cult. And I would advise others along similar lines.

Is this a country even worth defending anymore?

In anticipation of the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, in 2007, the Pentagon prepared a list of new or reinterpreted nomenclature and practices familiar to many older veterans. The gay EM who supplied Wikileaks sent us a copy just before his arrest. Some of the more interesting items are below.

All marching commands ending in “March” will now end in either “MINCE” or “SWISH,” at the option of the individual issuing the command;

The command “Right dress right,” will be replaced with “Right strapless evening gown, allrighty;”

Due to the distinct possibility that it may be misinterpreted, the command “To the Rear March” will be replaced with “OK, Fellas, Turn Around;”

Marching cadences employing “Jodie” will now replace that archaic appellation with the more metro-sexually appropriate “Brucie:”

The humorous but now out-dated phrase “Drop your c**ks and grab your socks” is to be replaced with “Drop your c**ks and grab the fella’s over there;”

A “Junk on the bunk” inspection will now allow that a soldier’s “junk” actually be displayed on his bunk;

If it will not interfere with “his” duties, a “Latrine Queen” may wear a pair of high heel pumps if they are OD in color;

The rank of “Private” will be replaced with “Newby.”

For those still smoking, as it could lead to serious and unit cohesion break-down, the phrase “Field strip that butt” will no longer be used.

As we did deeper into the documents we were provided, we will add other changes.

Let’s hope those who prance around as such will meet an untimely death on the battle field... by friendly fire. I would not hesitate to shoot one of these freaks, if he were making problems in my unit.

they have no right to compel the United States Armed Forces to accept this

Article I, section 8, "Congress shall have the power to...make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces."

I would say this is one of the rare examples of Congress exercising an enumerated power.

You are correct there are not that many gays in the military, but the problem is that this is not about being openly gay. This was a route used to get into all other sorts of social acceptance and special treatment based on a sexual act.

60%+ of the country may know a gay person or have a gay family member. They see only the “PC” version of the gay lifestyle. When you look behind the curtain you will see a lifestyle that is revolting and anti-social, and that is not even the sex part. They are not right mentally!

Will it effect unit cohesion, hell yeah! Gays will naturally gravitate to eachother, which will cause problems because no matter what anyone says will cause sexual tensions. Does anyone think intimate relationships within a platoon or company will not have an effect?

I was just talking with my son about this, his response was, there ain’t no way an openly gay guy would be able to be part of our company. We would ALL be chaptered out!

This will not be the end of it. They gay lobby will push for hate speak, discrimination, bullying, special board for complaints, special “re-education”, quotas for promotion, housing, benefits, etc. From there it will go full bore for gay marriage. How can we be equal and have gay men and women DIE for our country yet not allow them to marry??????

This BS was just their foot in the door to a nightmare!!!

If anybody needs a clue as to the unexpected consquences and the position the Pentagon folks will take they need only look at the case histroy fo that murdering traitor bastard Major Hasan. Because he was a Muslim his penchant for jihad was overlooked resulting in the Fort Hood massacre where I once served.

Americas fighters are tired, they've been fighting for a decade and now they have a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs who tells them to shut up and get out if they don't like his pc bs. Oyvey.

I just want to say one other thing about the 60% of civilians supporting this........I guarantee that yesterday most of those 60% were attending their office Christmas Party, shopping, were out to dinner or sitting in their safe homes. My son spent yesterday filling out paperwork on who will be his Pall Bearers at his funeral and who will escort his body back along with delivering his possessions to us. At 20 these are things he has to think about and these idiots in our Government are more worried if Tom gets to bring Steve to a freaking picnic!!!

In case you didn’t see my earlier post to you, I’ll make your zot a 7 day suspension. If or when you return, if you continue pushing any part of the homosexual or RINO agenda, we’ll make it a permanent zot.

I am so sick to death of gays I can’t tell you. Homosexuality is a mental disorder. All the BS talk and portrayal that is force fed us is a lie. I have seen it first hand. Bradley Manning......he is NOT an anomaly, he is the norm.

I have many gay friends (although, personally, I believe their “lifestyle choice” is the result of many bizarre understandings of marriage and heterosexuality in our culture) and I honestly don’t care what they do. And I would suspect most Americans don’t care about what their neighbors are up to at night - and in fact, most never have cared. We have other things to do.

But the problem is that once this becomes something engraved in federal law, that means special accomodations have to be provided for gays, they have to be specially protected (and promoted) as “minorities,” and they will form a pressure group within the military.

Also, in practice, it means that when a gay commanding officer harrasses a subordinate, this will be overlooked. A male commanding officer harrassing a female enlisted person would be penalized; but a male commanding officer harrassing a male enlisted person will be part of a protected caste.

Gays form their own clique anywhere they go, and the same will be true in the military.
