The Senate Saturday repealed the military's ban on gays serving openly in the military, by overturning the policy known as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

Senators voted 63-33 to advance the bill to the floor, passing a 60-vote procedural hurdle. Final passage Saturday afternoon was 65-31.

Final passage Saturday afternoon was 65-31.

So we most certainly have documented proof that we have 65 heretics in the Senate. I really feel sorry for the Marines and other military men and officers that will take the brunt of this vile law. ...very sad day for our military and our country.

Several have gotten the zot already today for taking your position. I would proceed with caution.

In principle, I don’t care if gays serve or not, and actually think DADT was a good compromise.

However, now that it has been over-turned, this is going to open a whole can of worms:

Federally recognized gay marriage in the military, death and spousal benefits, bringing homos from overseas as life partners, open gay housing on military barracks with gay couples living like married couples and everything that goes along with it.

Plus, if being gay is the same thing as being heterosexual in terms of sexuality, why would straight men or women want gays ogling them all the time?

Are we going to do away with separation of male and female quarters also and have just have one big happy non-genderized love fest?

The military’s object is to defend the United States; it isn’t about despicable liberal social engineering and turning our culture upside down in deference to cultural Marxism.

This goes out to all the conservatives
who refused to vote for McCain (the
dastardly RINO that he is):

You get what you vote for.

Cheers!

It’s your faith do what you want.

What the symbol means to you is more important than the historical origin of the symbol IMO.

Consider the origin of the cross; a instrument of torture and execution. Now a symbol of redemption.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman is going to have to change his harangue a bit. Yeah, you know the one.

So the left thinks that the military is just a half-assed jobs program for people who have no options, but they’ll move mountains to get the small minority of our population that is homosexual into it.

I don't approve of homosexuality. Yet I feel the government shouldn't muck around in people's personal lives as long as they don't harm themselves and others. I want gay people treated as they would want to treat me. We live in a country that prides itself on being civilized and decent. Look at the way they treat gays in the Middle East. We're not going to lose America by acknowledging what's always been the truth: some people are gay and that's how they live their lives. This repeal law won't change it.

Now watch how the homos will start filing hate crime charges at the drop of the hat for each and every order they receive that they don't feel like following.

How will heterosexual soldiers be protected from the out of control homos?

The military has become too PC already, now this is the last straw as far as retention goes.

This is the BEST statement regarding this issue.

Start with the bottom line: “The military’s object is to defent the United States; it isn’t about any freaking thing else, ever !!”

Anyone who doesn’t understand this is subservient to lesser standards, and sad.

Why do the Republicans always let the dimwits control the dialogue?

Fear of personal well being overwhelms fear for loss of what is best nationally.

A fearful bunch we have in Washington.

If I were part of a kingdom instead a worker for the people, I would live in fear for my well being too.

Sadly enough, representing the people has been replaced with a career worthy of financial promotion.

A deviation from what the forefathers had in mind.

all needing to be repealed by the new Congress.

I wish we could.

But with the WH and Senate still in enemy hands we don’t have much chance.

About the best we can do is a holding action. We refuse to fund those parts of the Obama agenda that we can.

We limit the damage until 2012.
