Queer Results: Mercury in Diet Turns Birds Gay
Open Magazine ^ | 21-27 Dec 2010 | TCA Sharad Raghavan

If the birdlife on earth didn’t have enough to worry about, like dwindling habitats, air pollution and the hostile ecosystem of cities, they now have the added perplexity of going gay. A study conducted by researchers from the University of Florida and Peradeniya University in Sri Lanka found that relatively low doses of methylmercury in the diet of male ibises resulted in their pairing up with each other, snubbing the females, to the extent of building nests together (in other words, moving in together).

Methylmercury has been seeping into groundwater from industries for ages now.

Money quote from this article:

"Alright, so humans may not be affected, but the question most bird lovers would be asking is: can this effect be reversed, can gay birds become straight again

The answer: 'We do not know! Unfortunately, our study ran out of funding before we could do the necessary experiments to determine this,' says Frederick."

Unfortunately, our study ran out of funding

Well, this sounds like a perfect project for a congressional earmark. We'll see how long the earmark ban lasts. Just get in touch with Florida's Senator Nelson.

Mercury is well known for causing brain damage. In the 19th century, the phrase. "Mad as a Hatter' came from the prevalence of mental illness of hatters who worked with mercury in the preparation of fur hats.

Mercury exposure can cause aggressiveness, mood swings, and anti-social behavior. Like most gay people I know. So could it be that we have so many gays this generation because of vaccines?

Perhaps those anti-vaccine people weren’t so crazy.
(adding the disclaimer that my children were vaccinated.)

Growing upon a farm, I used to eat apples in the orchard sprayed wih DDT and arsenic-based insecticides.

Never bothered to wash `em off.

Now all I do is chase women 24/7.

Well, it at least seems plausible and would explain why animals haven’t “bred out” gayness to date.

“Now all I do is chase women 24/7.”

If you’re male, Arsenic and DDT would do that to you - Mercury on the other hand....

That's OK so long as you're not a woman.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He is of Parsi descent - not Iranian Muslim though. His family was originally from India (India has the largest population of Parsis, who have been persecuted and eradicated from their native Iran).

And it remains an illness, despite its normalization in society. Homosexuality is not something beyond a persons control. It is an orientation, a lifestyle choice.

Thousands get molested and only a few manifest it as homosexuality. Homosexuality is a form of permanent sexual immaturity. It was and remains a sexual deviancy and a psychological disorder, despite opposite claims.

Take a listen here and learn how homosexuality came to be removed from the list of sexual deviancies by the American Psychiatric Association (APA): http://www.thisamericanlife.org/sites/all/play_music/play_full.php?play=204

It had nothing to do with science. It was an emotional and political act manipulated by a secret cabal of homosexual activists.

FReepers need this information.
