"Instituting and maintaining an aggressive affirmative litigation program: The Voting Section also enforces the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). The NVRA requires that individuals be given the opportunity to register to vote when applying for services at public assistance or disability offices under Section 7 of the NVRA or State driver license agencies under Section 5 of the NVRA. These provisions of Federal law must be vigorously enforced if groups who have been chronic nonparticipants in the American democratic process in the past are to be become active voters in the future. In the recent past, the Voting Section has entered into two out-of-court settlements with Arizona and Illinois regarding the failure of those States to comply with the public assistance agency voter registration requirements of the NVRA. Importantly, the Voting Section has a number of active statewide investigations in other states regarding possible failures to comply with Section 7 of the NVRA, and these investigations will be informed by the biannual nationwide NVRA report issued by the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) in July 2009. The Administration has already informed the Voting Section that it expects it to mount a vigorous Section 7 initiative in the coming months and years, and the Voting Section intends to carry out this mission with an eye toward investigatory reviews and, if appropriate, enforcement actions against those States that are not complying with Section 7. The requested additional resources will be used in part to fund this Section 7 enforcement work, which is very resource intensive."
Since when does DOJ worry about voter registration?
The only real transparency in this admin.
In any sane society, anyone receiving welfare (or as it’s often called now earned income tax credits) wouldn’t be allowed to vote.
But we don’t live in a sane society...
Simple answer, understandable even by liberals:
NO!
drip
drip...
I hear you and I guess when it’s primarily to register Dems.
Yeah because now they’re going to have to count the military vote and that’s still probably not going obama’s way. They already have the dead vote and the fraudulent vote of course but even so, they’ll need to be sure.
Gotta get the freeloaders to the polls if they want to keep on freeloading. Parasites!
Why have laws at all, if the Justice Department selects what laws to obey, what laws to ignore?
That’s pretty much what it’s all about — a government of Men, not Laws. The Constitution? Please! State laws? Uh-Uh. It’s all up to the judges and the bureaucrats now. The statutes don’t really figure into the discussion any more.
Precisely! This corrupt Holder DOJ doesn’t care in the least that everyone knows they are selective about enforcing laws. He and his thugs at DOJ should the first investigation started in the 112th Congress.
Apparently the demwits are aware of the slack in their planation voters and feel the need to throw money at the “problem”. They are assuming their property isn’t fully aware of their obligations to the D party. The truth is ( yes its going to hurt, Eric and Co.) The TRUTH is that getting without earning produces no gratitude and these loafers on the Gov. dole are not even thankful to the massers.
Sure some will get up and vote but the dems are never going to get the full participation they desire. Laziness begets more laziness and the toob and a cold one in hand are going to be hard to abandon on a chilly Nov. Evening.
Oh I forgot. Loafers have all Day to drag themselves to the polls. It just us workers that have to vote early or late. Duh.
We’re bankrupt. We can’t afford this.
BTW, when I was deployed to Afghanistan, a couple civilian men were on base to register people to vote. They would only ask “minority” people to register. I had recently moved before I deployed, so I thought it was a convenient opportunity to update my voter registration. The men kept ignoring me until I finally got one’s attention who didn’t appear too pleased to give me a form. He wouldn’t help me fill it out, yet was helping minority soldiers 100%. I made the update and turned it back in to him. When I got home months later it was obvious my update form was never turned in.
You’re correct, and hopefully it won’t pay off for the Rats.
The thing that really ticks me off is them not enforcing Section 8, they’d lose a lot of votes from the grave if they did.
That’s outrageous, they should have been thrown off base and the group they represented nailed. Of course with the Holder DOJ nothing would have been done.
Defund them until they cease their overt racism.
