It was a moderate rain that greeted me when I headed for the Freeway a bit before 11AM. I found light traffic on the 101, moving at 50 - 60mph, versus the normal 70-75mph... not so bad really.

In the mountains of Malibu there were fewer rock slides than I expected, but things will change for the worse later today and tonight, as the heavier rain arrives.

Here's a snapshot of rain headed toward Malibu at 12:30PM - not what I'd call heavy just yet... just a few red-spots, and they move through very quickly, as this whole front is very fast-moving.

I’m in Hawaii for a couple of months. 6” last night with 2-3” more coming this afternoon. The express is rocking.
