I'd never in a million years pick Phil Collins as someone interested in the Alamo.

I'd never in a million years pick Obama as someone....

“Phil Collins...
...has built an Alamo museum beneath his home in Switzerland, filling it with cannonballs and muskets, maps and flags, horseshoes and human teeth, all salvaged from the battlefield...
...and he recently told Rolling Stone magazine that a clairvoyant had said he was at the Alamo in a previous life, as a courier named John Smith...”

At home Collins, 59, has been mocked as the purveyor of middle-of-the-road hits

pretty snobbish tone towards Collins - he was also a member of Genesis and turned out a lot of good to great music. What do you have to do to earn some respect from the Times?

Alamo trivia side note:
In later years Santa Anna lived in New York City and is the man who introduced chewing gum (chicle) into the U.S.

Local Hispanic historians have called for a modernization of its exhibits, including a short film with an introduction by Collins, making it clearer that the defenders were of mixed race rather than just "gringos."

Leaky roof my ass. This attempted takeover is more about controlling history. f em.
