The Senate voted 67-28 to pass a cloture motion, seemingly enough to assure final ratification. Eleven Republicans joined with 56 Democrats to pass the cloture motion.
It will take 67 votes to ratify the New Start pact, which would give the Obama administration its top foreign policy goal in the lame-duck session.
Among Republicans announcing their support were Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, George V. Voinovich of Ohio, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker of Tennessee, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, and Bob Bennett of Utah. All voted for cloture.

The GOP Senators still have not received the message of November 2, 2010. People will not put up with this collegiality BS. I blame not only those Republican Senators who voted against America and with Obama and Putin, but also those in the Republican leadership and other Senators who failed to call out their colleagues for the supporting this treasonous sell-out. It is no longer good enough for those such as Senator McConnnell to feign opposition to this type of Democrat madness, while permitting their quisling colleagues to vote in favour without any censure.
This is not a mere circumstance of “agreeing to disagree”. This goes to the fundamental issue of America’s defence, something which these b...ards have sworn to defend. The TEA party movement and all conservatives have much, much more work to do.

To have an election like we had and then have R’s opt to “cooperate” with the losers is as close to flipping the bird at the voters as anything I can imagine.
If a tsunami election doesn’t hold these obnoxious critters in check, then what are we supposed to do?

I’m starting to wonder if they’re taking turns, figuring they can’t all be primaried out at one time. This would be their way of showing us little people who’s still in charge, Tea Party or no Tea Party.

I donated to Brown last year; just replied to the latest fundraising email. They may figure out they’ll be getting no more donations from these quarters.

Disgusting performance by 11 ‘Republican’ senators helping the anti-American Obama while screwing over Americas national defense. Like so many others, I’m enraged and frustrated by ‘Republican’ traitors voting for liberal Democrat bills that do harm to our country and it’s people, be it a loss of personal freedom, bad economic programs or foolish concessions in what passes for ‘foreign policy’. Appeasing Lisa Murkowski was a stupid, futile act of cowardice by Mitch McConnell, the Republican minority ‘leader’ in the senate. Murkowski obviously intends to vote with the Democrats from this point on so why is she allowed to hold committee positions when she spits in the face of the senate Republican ‘leadership’? The old ‘collegially’ nonsense at work again? Somebody should tell Mitch McConnell there is a war on (Democrats versus America).
