The decision by First Lady Michelle Obama to leave on schedule for her two-week Hawaii vacation and not wait a few days for her delayed husband will probably cost taxpayers more than $63,000 in additional expenses, according to a White House Dossier analysis.
President Obama was supposed to depart for Hawaii Saturday, but decided to stay in Washington until Congress finishes its work for the year. He’s now expected to depart today or tomorrow. But Mrs. Obama chose to leave without him Saturday, taking their two children and the dog along with her.

I just don’t think we can productively grouse about this. Trillions of dollars in profligate spending and excruciating government control, yes. But Michelle taking the girls out to HI a little early, I just don’t think so.
I wouldn’t care if e.g. Rush Limbaugh did this, because he would be spending his own money.
But the First Wookie is spending 63,000 dollars of your money on a completely avoidable expense. You can indeed squeeze some productive grouse out of this :0)
This is something that the American people might be able to understand as frivolity. Of course, who will tell them?
