The Unrepentant Terrorist
American Spectator ^ | December 22, 2010 | Ron Kolb

Oscar Lopez-Rivera was one of the leaders and founders of the fringe Puerto Rican nationalist domestic terrorist group known as the FALN (Armed Forces of National Liberation). In a highly controversial move in August of 1999, Bill Clinton offered clemency to 12 members of that group (including Lopez), along with four other members of their closely allied group the Macheteros (machete-wielders), who were based primarily on the island nation.

The 11 other members of the FALN finally accepted the conditions of the clemency a month later by expressing remorse (in a move that was engineered by then Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder). However, in a surprising move, Lopez refused the offer.

Excellent article on the forthcoming parole hearing of the FALN terrorist Oscar Lopez-Rivera, and another reminder that any violent enemy of America can count on the friendship of our domestic leftists.

Nit-picking - it’s what’s for dinner.

Thanks for the ping. Yes, any violent enemy of America can count on the friendship of our domestic leftists, including those now running the government.

Nit-picking?

One is an independent country. The other is a constituent state of a larger nation. That isn’t nit-picking. That’s poor journalism on the part of the author.

It’s a trivial error in an otherwise excellent article.

Did you make it past the first two sentences, or did your horror over the commonwealth / nation thing overwhem you?

Yes, the horror of it kept me from reading the rest. When someone is too stupid to get basic information right I can’t trust them for the rest.

I expected no better. Such is the nature of nit-pickers.

That’s right - we logically deduce truth from evidence. Your nit-picking means what exactly?

Only the first two sentences... after that you're limited to guesswork.

My guesswork is apparently better than the author’s actual knowledge - as demonstarted by his error in the first two sentences.

“Demonstarted?”

According to your own logic, there’s no need to bother with anything else you have to say.
