Exactly, Saddam was a MINO (Muslim in name only) as long as he got what he want, religion was not an issue.
Hussein and Tito were blood brothers. They ruled countries in which there were fierce animosities among religious groups. The two of them were murdering tyrants. However, that was what it took to hold both countries together. Troublemakers knew that creating trouble would result in imprisonment, torture and even death - a highly effective deterrent.
In the end, we may lose Iraq entirely to Muslim extremists. At a minimum, religious minorities, Christian, Bahai, etc. all will be driven out. It was a waste of US military lives and billions of dollars, and it all started with Bush Sr. wanting to help Kuwait, another Muslim land ruled by a wealthy and corrupt family. Then Bush Jr. just had to retaliate against Hussein for attempting to assassinate Bush Sr.
