Clueless clapper

Question: What do you call the Director of National Int Director of National Intelligence when he seems to be short of intelligence?

Answer: James Clapper.

On Monday, Diane Sawyer asked the White House's top anti-terrorism brains about the fallout from the sweeping arrests of 12 men in the UK early that morning.

Clapper's response: Silence. Crickets. The sound of one career, well, imploding. Pressed by Sawyer, he admitted he simply hadn't heard of the matter.

It was a mortifying lapse given Clapper's position: As DNI, he oversees all 16 US intelligence agencies and serves as chief intel adviser to the president.

Yesterday, we congratulated Attorney General Eric Holder for finally recognizing the threat posed by homegrown terror. Little did we know the rest of Team Obama was busy napping in a bunker.

Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan put on a Beltway smile and tried to cast Clapper's ignorance as a virtue.

Sure, the raid was all over the news Monday. But "I am glad," Brennan said, "that Jim Clapper is not sitting in front of the TV 24 hours a day."

Maybe he should be.

This is the same Brennan who defended jihad as a "legitimate tenet of Islam" back in May, and excused terrorists as victims of "social and economic forces."

This is what we have to look forward to with the growth of bureaucracy!

These mindless academics and civil servants are clueless unless they can have endless meetings discussing philosophy of issues.

America is doomed if we don’t take her back!

Can you imagine the fall out if this were a Republican administration?
I can't because we wouldn't have anybody that stupid.

Likely scenario . . .

He walked away from the interview and shot someone in the face for not briefing him on the latest "pop-ups" before going on-camera.

Total amateurs are running the executive branch.

No experience in anything but glad-handing, entitlement, philosophical pondering, and back-scratching.

Too not hold your own against Diane Sawyer. That’s like having the retarded bag guy at the local supermarket palm your t-bones. Twice. Those three radiated floor dripping, puddle forming dumbness.

It's reassuring to know Insp Clouseau is up and at ‘em in the war on terror.

Thank you for beating me to the Clouseau analogy!

Monsieur Clapper does not need ze raison nor ze information...he is a natural! He can depend on ze INSTINCT to do his job! [Nasal Gallic “ho ho ho”]

With such instinct, who needs ze morning briefing!

He is probably been told to busy himself with muslim outreach or perhaps global warming initiatives.

Instapundit said that if Clapper had just looked at Drudge he would have known about the London 12. All of America, nay, the world, has been ‘briefed’ on the London 12. BTW, in the Sawyer interview, Clapper had the world record best “Deer in the headlights” look I have ever seen.
