With Christmas only days away, and shopping malls packed, many Americans are scrambling for last minute gift ideas for kids, especially those older children, nephews, and nieces on your list. Here’s one idea:

Give the gift of freedom and responsibility – a gun.

Most states allow teenagers to own and possess long guns, and those 18 years of age and older to own, possess, and open carry handguns . . .

No! No! No! This is a terrible idea. I did this for my kids and they formed this opinion that they could take them with them when they moved out. I tried to straighten them out and told them that I had just loaned them the guns, that they were to young to own guns, and that the Christmas and wrapping paper were just to help set the mood.

And to add insult to injury, my wife agreed with them.

My gun inventory dropped by 35% when both boys moved out.

Then there was that tragic boating accident and I lost the rest of them.

I’m sure this is a thought provoking article (I won’t know because I won’t bother clicking on it and you don’t think it’s worth posting) but it does belong under Bloggers.

Why, so it will be buried in obscurity where 90% of the people who replied to the thread wouldn’t see it?

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I hope, at least, you were able to salvage a few of their firearms.

It’s still obscure. :-)

If he’d bothered to post it all, it wouldn’t be as obscure.

But, yeah, “Examiner” is still a blog. With lots of flash and popup ads to boot.

This “alternative media” pimp is a poasting bot for his blog.

If he really believed he had something to add, he would simply post it and then stay and discuss.

ALL his posts are “1” of something.

Posting bot pimp for his blog.

A human must be able to utilize tools at a very early age. All weapons are tools. Therefore, a young human should be trained in weapons.

Irrelevant. He’s a pimp. See my #30.

Others are entitled to their opinion, of course. I’ll have mine.

Using the "you're a hater" argument makes you a loser.

We donate money to Free Republic to make it a great conversation site for Conservatives. We do NOT spend our money on FR for it to serve as a marketing tool and launching point for blog hits which take people OFF of the FR site to get their information.

If you wish to be a part of this COMMUNITY then post articles, discuss them here, and provide a link to your blog that people can voluntarily explore if they wish.

DO NOT make them leave our site to get to your own personal work. Your own work you can post here without excerpting. To do otherwise is blog pimping and is against the rules. Not only against the rules, but looked down on as very poor form indeed.

I got it. Advertising dollars for the NY Times and Washington Post, no advertising dollars for conservatives in the alternative media. Conservatives should do it for free.

I already knew that. You're not the first to tell me that's the model they prefer here.

My youngest has offered to sell one of “his” guns back to me but at a profit.

Damned capitalist!

.22 rifles, .410 shotguns and Christmas morning sounded like a war zone with everybody trying out .22s,.410s, 16 and 12 gauge shotguns

I used them for a incentive brought them years before and told them if they grew up to be good responsible citizens they were theirs at 18. Both are well into their 20s both doing very well.

Additionally, I personally am paying for the upkeep of this site that you are using to make a profit.

Where's my cut of your advertising dollars?

That's what would be the Capitalistic way to settle this if you want to work this out in pure terms. That and a cut to Jim Robinson and everyone else who invests in FR as an advertising-free zone.

You don't get to park your ads here rent free, dude.
