It’ll be good to see a fresh start. The 111th left such a train wreck, especially at the end. Good riddance to that cabal of communists.
I hope that they read the original U.S. Constitution and not the perverted, “living, breathing and drinking” Commie’RAT/SCOTUS version.
The New house had better stick by their guns and not revert to the same old BS if this country is to survive..
I HOPE the new Congress does more than just read the Constitution. I HOPE THEY FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION!
They should read the Declaration of Independence, AND the Constitution!!
Symbolically, it would be best if Boehner read them after accepting the gavel from Poloser, but I doubt he could get through reading them without breaking down too much. It would probably take all day. lol
So what Judge is going to step up and call this “unconstitutional”?
Article III.Section. 3.
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.
Article. IV.
Section. 4.
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.
It’s start, at least they’re reading it which is far more than any other congress has done with it since 1926. It would be nice if they had an in depth debate about what it means instead of just letting the words go in one ear and out the other.
I read “The New Call of Freedom...” by Woodrow Wilson (the big Rat) the other day. In it he talks about how the fat cats run the country because of all the disgraceful public corruption. He goes at length lamenting about the corruption, but in the end his anwer for it is not to get a bunch of prosecutors and toss the politicians rears in jail for it, no, his answer is to heavily regulate business to protect the little guy from the effects.
If it weren’t so disasterous that he got his way and we we wouldn’t ever be able to put that horse back in the barn, it would be rather amusing to see how such an educated man can put 2+2 together and get 33.
Anyways, I have in the 'notes' sections scribbled:
Art III, sec 2.4:
U.S. vs. Moylan 417 F2d 1002,1006 (1969)
U.S. vs Dougherty 473 F2d 1113,1139 (1972)
Sparf vs U.S. 156 US 51
Its mine my own Constitution. I use it all the time.
I'd guess that you prolly could get boatload's of supertanker-to-grimace-proportion volumes of Declaration of Independence/Constitution/Amendments from these guys for song & dance (free). What makes me different to you? Is it my avatar - which will kill you by the way - or is it your fundamental socialist philosophy that I'm absolutely and utterly hostile against?
I think this is a very positive step. If nothing else it shows intent on the part of the new congress.
I will bet that people like Frank and Pelosi will scoff at it and degrade the whole issue.
Democrats look at the words of the Constitution, but only see Das Kapital and Rules for Radicals.
Its a cognitive disturbance of massive proportions.
“House to read Constitution”
This will be like an exorcist priest reading Biblical passages to a demon-possessed cult. I’ll watch on C-Span. I want to see if Pelosi will spit green pea soup or cough up hairballs.
