President Ronald Reagan’s Christmas address (12/23/81)

President Calvin Coolidge was our first president to issue a formal Christmas message:

"Christmas is not a time nor season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world."

Some of our members have asked for our prayers, please remember them.
Merry Christmas! Prayers and Hugs - "God bless us, everyone"

Now, now. Don't badmouth the kids.

If you want to get critical, the singers in the food court were disconnected, a couple of them were off time and off pitch, and the tone and delivery was way too operatic for baroque music.

The Philadelphia Opera did a much better job over at Macy's,here. Of course they have that wonderful Wanamaker's organ.

At least the kids used Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony.

Adorable and well worth watching.

I like the creative use of post office counters, sled dogs, freight containers, pickup trucks, and snowbanks. Very clever.

Future Madame President’s Christmas address via Facebook.

“Merry Christmas to All!
By Sarah Palin Today at 6:50pm

Christmas is a time of sharing with family and friends. For Todd and me, that means spending time with our children, parents, grandparents, and siblings, gratefully acknowledging God’s blessings and sharing them with the people we love.

Ronald Reagan said Christmas was a ‘state of mind, found throughout the year whenever faith overcomes doubt, hope conquers despair, and love triumphs over hate.’

On this Christmas Eve, let’s be thankful that we live in a country known for striving to embody these values. And let’s be grateful for the brave men and women in uniform who have fought to defend our values and who may be spending this Christmas far from home.

On behalf of the entire Palin family, I wish you a very Merry Christmas; and may the new year let you realize the promise found in 2Timothy1:7!
- Sarah Palin
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Merry Christmas Onyx, VR, Clyde and Palin FReepers!

Ah, thanks for the information. I pinged some of our Alaksa members and I thought they might know about the village.

A Blessed and Merry Christmas to you, my cherished friend and to everyone here and everyone on Sarah Palin's Ping List.

I hope the Palins have a Blessed and Merry Christmas... before her campaign years ahead. :)

Prayers and Hugs for all!

Yours may well be the better-educated opinion, but I like the other one far better. It has more genuineness, more spirit. It moves me; the PA one does nothing for me — and I’ve loved Handel’s Messiah for decades.

PLUS the previous version *doesn’t* have the Philadelpha Gay Men’s Chorus.

:^P

I live in Valdez, however, I have been at Bethel and the Bering Sea villages. Let me just say that there is no part of America any more devoutly Christian than in that area. Not even the Bible belt of the south.

The impression I get, it is like stepping back in time to the Christian America say of the 19th century. Bear this in mind when you see those people doing the Hallelujah chorus, they believe every bit of it! Thank you, Sarah, from this fellow Alaskan, for putting this for the rest of America to see.

Wow, that was neat. What a bunch of work went into that. If you think hearing it is great you should be one of the people singing it. I used to sing with a chorus and we sang this one at Christmas, what a rush, especially listening to the applause at the end.

A very merry Christmas to all. I was just listening to some Handel - that one and "Hallelujah Amen" from Judas Maccabaeus.

Yes, my stereo does go to eleven. I think I may have caused structural damage to the house...

Thanks very much, my sweet buddy! No Crass-mas at all for me this year. Not one bit of shopping, just gifts for the little and younger ones, and money to charities otherwise. Our Republic is too over-run with Marxists, I truly believe we have to fight with all our might and also turn to prayer.I plan to eat and maybe have a drink tomorrow!
