I bought an iPod Touch for my kid, mostly so he can video chat with me when I'm on the road.

So I got it a month ago, broke it out of the box, loaded the new OS, loaded a couple games, set up an account for him, everything working great.

Broke it out of the box this morning and put a screen protector and case on it, and nothing worked. While doing a pile of troubleshooting for a half hour I realized that the screen protector had two backings on it, or the first backing I pulled off was another screen protector. At any rate, as soon as I got the extra layer of clear plastic off it started working again. Kind of interesting since WiFi works through walls, but wouldn't go through plastic.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I did all the different forms of reset on it when I was on the phone with Apple support. It is really and truly dead. I am happy that we can at least go swap it out in person tomorrow morning.

I realize these things do happen. I just get a little miffed when the Apple fanboix make it out like Apple is perfect and all other products, and their owners, are somehow inferior.

The Linux crowd is even worse. I, on occasion, use a couple of flavors of Linux. But folks who ask for help on the Linux forums should not be surprised to receive a rude response that roughly translates to ‘someone asked that question before, and got an answer. Since they were told, you should know the answer as well’. Some folks want to keep their club exclusive.

Wow... mainstream porn. I am not a prude but I don’t believe in a market where sleaziness and disrespect for human person is promoted to make a fast buck. While I like the free market, I don’t accept the view that everything goes. Not even in gaming.

You’d think a TV station would have video of the game, not a still shot.

It’s not mainstream, it’s some Australian company making a game for a game system without permission of the platform creators. It won’t be showing up at Best Buy.

Not gonna happen.

Anything that runs on an un-hacked Xbox require Microsoft approval.

And there’s no way Microsoft will approve this, as the article states.

Likely it’s just the porn company trolling for media attention.

You are so right, although I’m sure you know that problem isn’t limited to Linux forums. I never did understand why someone would go out of their way to belittle another person, when it’s just as easy to help them out.

Use Copy Trans Control Center, you can download it for free.much user friendly than Itunes.Itunes highjacked my computer and kept popping up when I was using any other programs.I uninstalled it and found the CTCC program online and use that to put music on my ipod. The only reason I got an one was that all the docking stations on just about anything are set up for Ipod.My Bose does have an input jack, but I wanted the it for use with the remote control that came with it.I use my Sony Walkman for yardwork and for walking in the park.

All those troubles are why my requirement #1 when buying an MP3 player was that it be accessible via Explorer similarly to a thumbdrive. Which means staying far far away from iPod.
