Without a doubt, Christmas is one of the most special times of the year, if not the most special. Time with family and friends, parties, great food, movies and TV specials, and giving and receiving gifts all, in one way or another, add to the joyous celebration and festive spirit of the season. And, of course, its the time when billions of Christians around the world celebrate the birth of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A recent survey showed that 91% of Americans celebrate Christmas, regardless of their religious beliefs. Heres how that survey breaks down:
A new study by LifeWay Research reveals that nine in 10 Americans (91 percent) personally celebrate Christmas, and those arent all self-identified Christians. A majority of agnostics or those claiming no preference (89 percent), individuals claiming other religions (62 percent), and even atheists (55 percent) celebrate Christmas along with 97 percent of Christians.
Yet, strangely enough, Christmas, which has been celebrated in one way or another since the 4th century, has been under increased attack in recent years. We see it most obviously in the statements of Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings that have replaced Merry Christmas just about everywhere we go. Ad agencies and marketing professionals use the word holiday in place of Christmas, creating awkwardly written commercials that deny the obvious celebration that is right under all our noses.

The commercials during football are so pathetic I mute them. The word “holiday” is repeated endlessly. “Holiday list, gift...etc.” It is terrible.
This year people at my workplace seemed almost afraid or conditioned not to say the C word. Like every other aspect of leftist brainwashing, they have been successful beyond belief.
and is a violation of the First Amendment
by publicly renaming another religion`s religious holy day,
[a legal USA holiday by Act of Congress] into another secular name
in order to erase ANY public outward sign of the religion as a Free Speech Right also under the First Amendment.
Americans (most people as well) will celebrate anything that gives them a day off with pay!!!

It is pathetic. Except for lefties watching their alma maters play so they can regale with each other the time they busted up the conservative bake sale on the quad, they have no inclination to watch professional football.
Which of course leads me to the next question. Why advertise for lefty products, like the green cars?
I'm not so sure about the term "celebrate"; I get Columbus Day off with pay, and while I have nothing against the man I don't spend the day at a Columbus Day parade...I just enjoy having a paid holiday.
In my experience, lefties are no less likely to watch pro football than those right of center.
I wish we would get "Ground Hog Day" off. Preparing the traditional Ground Hog meal is very time consuming.
Every year I make sure I get the largest Ground Hog I can find. A week of eating cold Ground Hog sandwiches is the best part of the holiday!
The Left hates everything that is good.
2000+ years later, Christ still reigns.
To my friends on the Left: Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011 but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only nation in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
To my friends on the Right: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!I second the motion.
I'm the same way about overused, cutesy little rhymes- 'Dads and grads', for example. Get on my nerves like that and I'll make a point of remembering where not to shop.
Do you mean sausage or something else?
Do you mean sausage or something else?
Right and what husband/wife/father is going to just go out and buy them a car as a surprise? Surprise yeah! There went the family budget without sitting down and talking about whether they could afford one or not.
Christmas is atheists busiest time of the year.
It’s too bad leftists and jihadis can’t or won’t enjoy this time of the year with their families. Watching the kids open presents is really the best part! Above all, Christmas is a tradition that it renewed every year. It brings families and friends together.
The Food 4 Less here in L.A. advertises Merry Christmas/Feliz Navidad. At least it’s in English.
Think about this..
I’m in various WEB forums which has a good mix of foreigners and they greet everyone MERRY CHRISTMAS, from Japan to Europe. They have never heard of Happy Holidays and MOST of them think it “doesnt sound right”.
I don’t care what they think. Not at all. I’m a happy person and everyone I’ve met I extend to them a Merry Christmas! They should be able to celebrate the holiday. Those who hate it should stay home and shut up instead of ruining it for the rest of us. We’ll keep to our traditions like bitter clingers no matter what the Left does to uproot them.
To paraphrase the South Park guys, for some people it isn’t enough to just be an atheist - you also have to be a d*ck about it.
