OK … that’s just a cheap headline to get views … I think. Matthews spent his entire first segment with Clarence Page and David Corn discussing the recent push by Hawaii’s new Democrat Governor to finally get the young President’s long form birth certificate into the public domain. The idea is to end the controversy … and Matthews likes it? Yikes!
It is a little bit stunning. A poll in the NYT in April showed that 42% of the American public were not convinced Obama was born in the USA, with due respect to “The Boss”. Adding to the controversy is a story that the Governor of Hawaii wants the into out too. True.

I caught some of this. The tone of the whole thing was: “Look how stupid birthers are!” “Even the long form birth certificate won’t satisfy birthers, they’re crazy.”
However, I was stunned that Matthews asked one, clear, simple, logical, reasonable question, (quite a feat for a leftie): “Everyone has a long form birth certificate with signatures, etc. What’s the harm in producing it?”
Crissy is so stupid that he doesn’t realize that the Obama administration wants this “issue” to linger.
It’s a setup, I’m sure. They have a good forgery that they are going to wave about.
But I predict there will be a tiny flaw that someone will uncover...

I can understand censoring certain topics but, why is the birther subject taboo ?
I love Free Republic. I read it every day.
It is the last place I would expect censorship concerning a topical political issue to rear its head.

I just can’t bring myself to give Matthews that much credit for intelligence.
On the contrary, he realizes it and is abetting the administration in its efforts to keep it alive. Otherwise he wouldn't be featuring it on his show.
I suspect that's also the motivation behind the new Hawaii governor's ressurecting it.
