Obama,Hillary Clinton Top Most Admired List(BARF TSUNAMI)
NYTimes:The Caucus ^ | December 28, 2010 | MICHAEL D. SHEAR

Posted on 12/28/2010 9:38:10 AM PST by lbryce

President Obama is the country’s most admired man, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the secretary of state, is the most respected woman, according to a survey by USA Today and Gallup.

Mr. Obama was the choice of 22 percent of those surveyed, followed by former President George W. Bush at 5 percent and former President Bill Clinton at 4 percent. Among women, Mrs. Clinton was named by 17 percent, followed by 12 percent who picked Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, and Oprah Winfrey at 11 percent.

The annual effort to determine who the American public admires most is usually dominated by sitting presidents, according to Gallup. It is Mr. Obama’s third straight time atop the list.

But as the presidency progresses, the numbers typically fall off. Thirty-two percent picked Mr. Obama the year he was elected, while 30 percent picked him during his first year in office. Mr. Bush’s numbers fell, too, from a high of 39 percent during his first year to 23 percent in his fourth.

Mrs. Clinton has dominated the title of most admired woman for much of the past two decades, according to Gallup. She has placed first on the list 15 times since 1992 and in each of the last nine years consecutively.

The list of admired women in 2010 was largely unchanged from 2009, according to Gallup. The top six women are identical: Mrs. Clinton; Ms. Palin; Ms. Winfrey, the TV host; Michelle Obama, the first lady; Condoleezza Rice, the former secretary of state; and Queen Elizabeth of England.

Posted at the 'Politics and Government Blog' of the New York Times, it is the USA Today/Gallup Poll that deserves to be utterly admonished, ridiculed for publishing what is no doubt the beginning of the end in the sense in which the MSM has lost all touch with reality.

What is the point of this overwhelmingly dubious poll other than indulge in the make-believe fantasies in which they have for so long served up to the public?

They themselves qualify the poll as being useless, pointless, with the caveat that the annual effort to determine who the American public admires most is usually dominated by sitting presidents, according to Gallup, published only to serve their own mentally-deranged agenda.

I'd like to have my own poll to determine what exactly is there to admire about our currently sitting president, in any way, shape, matter or form.

They must have polled blacks and Jews.

It’s interesting that former First Lady’s have normally been in the top three of the women......except this year. That’s probably why they see this poll as “useless and pointless”.

"President Obama is the country’s most admired man, and Hillary Rodham Clinton, the secretary of state, is the most respected woman, according to a survey by USA Today and Gallup."

...and to think that this was once a proud country populated by respectful people.

My most admired list of 2010:

1) The man who still keeps me employed

2) The Hooter girl who pours my beer

3) The mechanic who keeps my 17 year old jeep running

4) The truck driver who keeps the liquor store stocked with Jack Daniels

5) The UT girls in tight pants jogging on town lake who keep me motivated to run that last 2 miles in 100 degree weather

6) The girls in the aerobics class who keep me motivated to do an extra set of 50 push ups.

7) The guy who speeds by me , gets pulled over and gets a speeding ticket that I probably should have got

8) The trashmen who do a thankless job

9) Any bartender who charges me for 4 beers when I really drank 6

10) The women in cars who drive by me and wave to me while I’m jogging....I must still look good shirtless.

I really appreciate having you point this out to me, but as I always do, and certainly did in this case, did a search for Obama, Hillary Clinton Top Most Admired List, returning search results of my post only and no indication of it having been posted previously at FR.

FR Search: 12/28/10-12:45PM EDT-Obama,Hillary Clinton Top Most Admired List

Thank You

Mr. Obama was the choice of 22 percent of those surveyed, followed by former President George W. Bush at 5 percent and former President Bill Clinton at 4 percent.

The articles says 22 percent for Obozo, 5 for Bush and 4% for Clinton.

The chart says they started out (election year) at 32% for Obozo, 5% for Bush, and 17 for Clinton. Oboza for the 1st year, dropped 2% then dropped the second year another 8%. Bush for the 1st year rose 24% then dropped 9% the second year. Clinton the first year rose 5% then dropped 7% the second year. This is peculiar how they misquote the chart, don't you think? Obozo was never 22% and Bush was only 5% on election year and Clinton was never 4%. Or am I missing something here?

Please note the differences between your search request and Left's search request. "Whole title" search requests do not generally return matches in FR's software.

Ask yourself: which word from the subject title would return the desired results? In this example, a search using the word "admired" would have been the best choice.

First time in memory the president’s wife didn’t make the top 3 women. From Roslyn Carter forward I’m pretty sure they all ranked in the top 3. Betty Ford only attracted attention after leaving the WhiteHouse and doing the cancer thing.

I appreciate having you point this out to me. You've offered the definitive approach to searching FR in a way I hadn't utilized before in checking for previously posted articles, will be making use of in all future posting efforts.

Thank you very much.
