(Vanity) Anyone having problems with their Yahoo email account?

Posted on 12/28/2010 12:12:57 PM PST by Red in Blue PA

Off and on for the past week or so, when I click on an email in my Yahoo account to open it up, another email of mine opens up (not the one I clicked on!) If I go back and try again to open the same email the same wrong email is opened!

The only thing which seems to "fix" it (for lack of a better word) is to log out and log back in. But that is not truly a fix.

This is a major bug and I am curious who else is experiencing it? I am also concerned that this may go beyond simply opening another email of mine to where I may get access to someone else's email (or vice versa).

Well, seeing how you’re already logged in when this happens, I can’t help...

No problems here but I don’t use any popmail or anything like that. My various email accounts are totally separate.

Sign out of the other one and see if it still opens when you go to the yahoo email.

I just went to my Yahoo account and went to the e-mail and did what you put on your post and everything was working well. I wish you luck in getting it back together. I am not a computer geek unfortunately. So prayers are the best I can do.

It’s been going on for a while. Yahoo is in a death roll right now.

Switch to another email provider.

I just went to your Yahoo account, but I don't see a problem.

What is your username and password?

the same wrong email is opened!

That's easy!

Delete the "wrong" e-mail. It's doing you wrong.

Alternately, move the "wrong" e-mail to another folder and try to open the "right" e-mail again.

If all else fails, let Yahoo know about your problem.

BTW, I haven't had that problem myself.

Google Mail is jacked up too. All forwarded emails that have pictures in them are jacked up. The recipients can’t see the photos; email is blank except for text. The Google Mail gurus have been “working” on it for weeks. They must be in Pakistan, China, or India.

I am in the process of transitioning to a new email account, but had hoped to keep my Yahoo account for some time.....now I just do not trust it.

The part that irks me is that they (Yahoo) most likely know of this issue, but will not let users know because it puts them in a bad light.

First words out of my IT professional step daughter’s mouth to you is have you run http://www.malwarebytes.org/

There is a free version, also run your anti-virus program. She runs Malwarebytes daily.

We use Firefox and it was having fits yesterday.

Gmail is easier to use.

Since I’m no computer expert I follow her expert advice.

No problems here. (still using classic mail)

Are you using the new Yahoo Mail or the old Classic Mail?

Compare Yahoo! Mail experiences
