BOOK REVIEW: What Palin believes and why

AMERICA BY HEART: REFLECTIONS ON FAMILY, FAITH AND FLAG

Sarah Palin has read the writings of such intellectual giants as Milton Friedman, Alexis de Tocqueville and Whittaker Chambers and such historical leaders as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

In "America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and the Flag," she cites the published letters between John and Abigail Adams in this nation's infancy as well as the speech of Calvin Coolidge (probably one of America's most underrated presidents) on the occasion of this nation's 150th birthday.

Beyond that, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee - recently in USA Today - offered us her insight regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities and ambitions.

Such displays of research and knowledge are not likely to prevent critics from disparaging her intellectual heft. Indeed, one is left to wonder if they would credit Mrs. Palin's gravitas if she were to author her own comprehensive encyclopedia blindfolded and without notes or research material at hand.

The former Alaska governor's second best-seller brims with historically significant details (many not widely known). Moreover, she discusses at length in well-ordered terminology who she is, what she believes, why she believes it and why she pursues her very public path whether or not she ultimately joins the presidential sweepstakes 2012.

As of this writing, it is likely that Mrs. Palin has not decided if she will seek the Republican nomination next year. Recall that she resigned as governor of Alaska only because her enemies, through frivolous lawsuits, made it impossible for her to govern.

Let’s just hope she doesn’t share Huckabee’s view that the Earth is 6,000 years old.

2 Episodes ago on Sarah Palin's Alaska they were hunting for fossils, that were and I quote "millions of years old".

So there you have it. Even if I'm not sure why it is a political issue one way or another.

If she is brilliant, experienced, decent, talented, savvy, and competent, and no one hears about it, is she?

The leftists say no, but we say, “You betcha! ;-D”

They can try to hide her, but she will not allow that. This book and Going Rogue will defeat the left and get the word out.

They can try to tear her down, but she is more than a match for their perfidy.

Re-elect Sarah Palin 2016.

She's already said she doesn't. But she believe the Earth and all in it were created by God, as do I. I don't pretend to know all the ways in which he accomplished it.

Good. I hope the Republican party candidates don't embarrass themselves in the debates like they did last time when the evolution question came up.

If we had a real media and the President governed Constitutionally, it would’t. But like it or not it will be an issue just like it was in the last primary campaign.

News report today: Alaska governor’s office needs until May31 to release thousands of emails sent & rcvd by Gov. Palin while in office. More than 2 and 1/2 yrs will have elapsed since the AP and other media outlets and at least one person requested those e-mails. Two people will be assigned full time, including a former asst. atty. general. This project will cost Alaska $120,000, to respond to a desperate attempt to find something, anything that might serve to discredit Sarah Palin.
Has any other former governor, or other key government official, been subjected to such scrutiny? Certain not any Democrat.

Get over it, Faith is a concept that many describe but few actually live it. To say that implies that you hope Palin is not as stupid as Huck.
