The marriage proposal was apparently a rather romantic affair. On Christmas Eve, the couple watched a late-night movie together and then exchanged gifts: for him a framed photograph of their King Charles Spaniel, for her an engagement ring.
She burst into tears, he revealed on Twitter at the weekend. This is the happiest Christmas in memory. The most memorable Christmas ever, she tweeted in agreement. I love him.
All of which might be rather more touching if the prospective groom was not Playboy tycoon Hugh Hefner who, at 84, is 60 years older than his fiancée, a platinum blonde model named Crystal Harris.

Times like this I am so glad I never want to be famous through the entertainment industry.
Hefner has officially become a dirty old man.
Yeesh. I knew the “Playboy Mansion” was a sleaze pit and that all the glamor was simply hype, but I didn’t suspect it was this bad. Hefner is more pathetic than I thought he was—an old man living in a dingy house and still obsessed with bedding 20 year olds. And these “girlfriends” are nothing more than glorfied prostitutes. Cheap, crass, glorified prostitution is what goes on there.
What a grotesque, mentally disturbed individual.
Maybe Hef is hooking up with her for her housekeeping skills?
Really nothing more than a high-priced Nudie Club.
Treating other people like objects disassociated from their humanity is the path to happiness and salvation, unless I've misunderstood everything I've ever been told in The Church and The Bible.
You mean he's officially become old?
Dirty young man, dirty middle age man, dirty old man, it is the next step he needs to worry about.
Young chicks have been giving it up for rich old men for ages. Hardly news.
says the Teacher.
Everything is meaningless.
I said to myself, Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good. But that also proved to be meaningless.
I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my labor,
and this was the reward for all my toil.
11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.
“And these ‘girlfriends’ are nothing more than glorfied prostitutes.”
They are “high class” whores who work in a specialized niche of the industry.
The Devil is a gentleman.
As we see in this article, the glamor and glitz of the Playboy Mansion is only an illusion. It's reality is poop stains on the carpet, other "stains" on old mattresses, and dreary and depressing people trying to keep up a facade that looked so hip and glamorous in the 1960's.
This really does show how shallow the “playboy lifestyle” is. Hefner has nothing in his life. He is “pouring over” logs of when the girls come and go, he’s giving them drugs, he’s taking Viagra every night. His life is all about sex. And its meaningless sex. It goes without saying that none of these girls would be with him if he didn’t give them $1,000 per week and put them as centerfolds in his magazine. And he knows it. Many young men go through a period in their lives when they would love to live the “Playboy” lifestyle of constant sex with good looking women. Most grow out of it—they mature. Some don’t and end up doing drugs and engaging in orgies at the Playboy mansion. Its not glamorous—its pathetic.
Nauseating. However, I have always thought that Hefner looked crazy, even when he was younger.
..it disguises a grubby world where some girls feel they are no better than prostitutes.”
Ya think? $1000/week “pocket money.”
