Amazing look at what Detroit once was and what it is today. Truly sad and frightening to see how steep the decline has been and how it occurred over a relatively short period.
The documentation of the effects of Johnson’s great society and liberalism’s on our country. We don’t need any other proof that we are on the wrong path. Looking at Europe only strengthens the arguments against liberalism run amok.
Decades of political corruption and dependence on gubmint hand outs take their toll. What a shame.
It is as though the city had been sacked by the Vandals...
Also illustrates a people of that area who have turned away from God.
Uncles on my dad’s side saw this coming and got out before and just after the Detroit riots. They worked for Ford, in the corporate office and on the line and had good lives. Then, something changed...
Take a visual tour of the s**thole:
The result of “ progressivism, social justice, wealth redistribution, collectivism, marxism, socialism” , etc, etc, whatever double-speak words they use for Totalitarianism
Until we can speak the truth, we cannot hope to cope.
Soon to be in other cities. Many are already seeing this blight.
Welcome to Somalia. Detroit is now a ghetto. It needs to be leveled and turned into pasture.
Try watching the movie “Four Brothers”. Also an episode of Criminal minds about the hog farmer abducting derelects off the streets of detroit.
Hollywood could use it as scenery for a dozen post-apocalyptic movies.
Pretty much has been and by vandals elected by popular vote.
No doubt the other side of the ideological fence would look at these images and say they are the product of white flight, lack of an “industrial policy,” or any other variety of liberal grievance. That begs the question: What political party has had a lock on the city over the last 50 years?
I was there like 10 years ago and saw an aerial photo of Tigers stadium. Even then it looked like you could take a D-9 Cat and work hard for 3 days and turn the whole city back into prime farm ground. Along about that time I read that Detroit residents were spotting pheasants growing wild within the city limits. I'm sure it's even worse now.
Let's hope they see the light.
The Guardian was, and is, fully supportive of the policies that created this nightmare.
The Triumph of Socialism.

Masterful photography of the effect of liberalism on a great city.
I don't understand why the furniture and fixtures in these places have not been salvaged. I want the chairs from the Presbyterian Church!
This city is just a sampling of the Deathwish obama has for the entire 57 states.
Destruction by savages who would not know where to place the first line on a drawing.
The thing about Detroit is that it was once among our wealthiest cities.
I was in Detroit after the riots. I attended a convention that was held in the big glass towers. Word was that there were more cops in the towers than on the street. Until they put the hammer down on those people it will continue in every major city in the country. They are nothing but animals.
Pheasants in the city? That’s actually wonderful.
The total dollar value of the damage done to US cities by the War on Poverty (and its successors) far, far exceeds the dollar value of the damage done to London by the Luftwaffe in WWII.
Detroit, Tragedy of the Commons
——It needs to be leveled and turned into pasture.——
The current mayor has proposed just that. There are neighborhoods for which services are provided and almost no people. The proposal is to cease services to these near dead neighborhoods, move the few remaining residents, mainly older single women, into refurbished city owned residences in thriving neighborhoods.
The vacated areas will in fact be plowed under and de annexed

or the Amish...
I guess these images of these beautiful buildings with their brilliant architecture left to molder away looked like something you see when a civilization is destroyed. The books rotting away in the library especially get to me.
We haven't pumped enough tax dollars into the city.
All the best cities in the country receive all the wealth transfer while Detroit is left out to dry.
Here’s some more eye-opening documentary and video by Steven Crowder.
The videos on YouTube are incredible. Americans traded liberty and freedom for a TV clicker.
This is what happens when Amish take over cities. Sad but true. Think I’ll stay out here in the country and let the big cities rot. Eff them.
Guess all the flooring was used for firewood (or weapons)??? There was a group of photos posted here a year or so ago of homes (once occupied) now grown over with trees and ivy that was shocking enough — but these are public buildings.
You got that right. People run around in circles and offer all kinds of excuses as to why but ignore the one thing that is consistent in each and every one of these s**t holes.
Er, I don't think they're Germans who did this.
They are working on that...
Deep in financial crisis, Detroit wants to save itself by turning urban areas back to farmland
Plowing Detroit Into Farmland
I've seen them myself while spending 35 years at my plant on Detroit's east side. Just missed hitting a rooster with my car, it's wing clipped my front windshield.....
Yes. The Guardian is a leftist - trade union paper. The same people (leftist - Musgabe types) who destroyed Detroit are destroying America.
ALL of TV support them including Fox.
It look like the pictures of the town of Chernobyl after the nuclear disaster.
In retrospect, the Democrats have done a much better job destroying the country than the Russians ever could have with bombs
