I wonder how far we’d have to travel back in time, to find enough people with the moral clarity to save an innocent woman from the barbarians who murdered her. The generation who saved humanity from the Nazis understood this. When they said “never again” they never dreamed it would invade their homeland in their lifetime.

I agree, except I think you should have put TRYING in quotation marks, because he was only pretending to try. If he had actually tried to save her, she’d almost certainly be alive today.

You’re right. Jeb had several options under the Florida Constitution that authorized him to take custody of her.

I’d go with “husband” in scare quotes on that subject. Further, it’s a good thing we unconditionally require “life support” for babies and minor children.

Also be concerned with how far FORWARD in time we need go from now to see such moral clarity.

Yeah, George Greer is walking the streets, but he should be indicted for murder, along with Michael Sciavo and his fiendish lawyers. A new Nuremburg-style trial is in order. Bob

“I wore a bulletproof vest for months,” Greer said.

He's projecting his own mentality on others. You're the one with no regard for life, Greer.

“At one point Bush had dispatched the state police, but he backed down because he didn’t want a confrontation.”

Really? I didn’t hear about that.

Didn’t realize he was a coward.

IIRC, Norm Olson, one Michigan militia leader had started
to do just that, but that David Gibbs, the Schindler’s
lawyer had informed the FBI. I’m sure he wasn’t the only
one, very sure. There was a “trial run” of the murder
in 2003 that was stopped, and many of us, up until about
March 21 or so, could not believe that the authorities
would not intervene.

see Ann Coulter, Starved for Justice, March 24, 2005: How about a Republican governor sending in the National Guard to stop an innocent woman from being starved to death in Florida? ...
Isn't it also important to enforce Terri Schiavo's right to due process before she is killed by starvation?
The column opens with several instances of government resorting to armed force against recalcitrant locals.

If this was not a civil rights violation there are none.
Think upon that.

Also Not True: “If he’d decided to keep her on life support she would have been kept on life support.”

Terri was NOT on “life support”.

Terri had a feeding tube but could very likely have re-learned to swallow,
with physical therapy.

Too bad her murderous spouse denied her so much, which would have
improved her quality of life.

There was a story about the dispatch having been made but that
the two sides met on the road and the state backed down.

Anyone recall the details?

Yes, is there something about the name George that makes one susceptible to demonic forces? Bob
