The Founding Fathers weren’t as so”fist”icated (Kevin Jennings pun) as we are today, they actually thought that the act of homosexuality was “detestable” (and as shown, their laws reflected it).

If you look at other orders given by General George Washington to his soldiers, you’ll see that card playing and cursing were prohibited (makes me think that he would frown upon them sodomizing one another).

George Washington’s original General Orders:

February 26, 1776

All Officers, non-commissioned Officers and Soldiers are positively forbid[den from] playing at Cards, and other Games of Chance. At this time of public distress, men may find enough to do in the service of God and their country without abandoning themselves to vice and immorality.
