Guess you shoulda started that post with the sarc tag. Geez.....
I’ll bold it next time.
Anchor baby ring a bell? Whole family comes in & gets on the dole. Cut out the welfare state & see how many remain.
No, I'm not blind. I'm just too enturbulated by the destruction of my livelihood and my family's fortunes to take a joke.
” Too bad we didn’t do something about it 20 years ago. “
In California we tried. We passed Prop 187 in 1994, with the likes of Dubya, Jack Kemp and Bill Bennett fighting us the whole way.
Well let’s see, I’ve lived at ground zero for illegal immigration for over 40 years and now you’re going to lecture me on what motivates illegals to move here. Sometimes you just can’t make this stuff up.
Suit yourself.
Why are you dismissing me like that? Do you not understand that those of us who have lost everything due to illegal labor have gone through a literal near-death experience?
My wife and I broke our backs for over a decade building a successful business from nothing. We created a good life for ourselves and others by the sweat of our brow. No one ever lifted a finger to help us, either. We earned every last thing we had, and it was good.
That's all gone now. All of it. Every last scrap of it.
Try to understand that folks in my situation might just be a bit extra sensitive about this topic.
All I meant was get angry at someone who is agreeing with you if you like. I’m sorry about your situation, you are obviously to emotional to speak about it rationally.
Not lecturing you on what makes them move here.
Lecturing you on what KEEPS them here. When they can’t feed their families, they leave. Yeah, I’ve lived in Texas 31 of my 48 years. BTST, got the t shirt. You’re right, sometimes you just cant make this stuff up. Do you have this kind of scratch as pocket change? Because I sure don’t.

Analysis of the latest Census data indicates Texass illegal immigrant population is costing the states taxpayers more than $4.7 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration. Even if the estimated tax contributions of illegal immigrant workers are subtracted, net outlays still amount to more than $3.7 billion per year.

Too emotional? I don't think so. Ever hear the term, "righteous indignation"? My reaction to the sarcasm expressed upthread could be described that way.
I believe that my anger is righteous, and that I'm expressing it in the proper context. I'm not a dispassionate robot. I've got every right to be boiling mad about the wanton destruction of my life by the illegals and their enablers.
If I weren't angry as hell about losing everything I've worked for, you could rightfully say that something is wrong with me.
That said, Skeeter and I have talked about all of this, and are completely cool with each other.
Oh, fer cryin out loud. You've obviously missed the forest for the trees.
Please continue with your knitting.
If I knew how to knit, I’d make you a blanky. You could use it. If you can’t even discuss this topic without getting angry at people who agree with you, and I am one of them, then you should lay off this thread for a while.
Please stop talking to me. You haven’t heard a word I’ve said, and are apparently in a conversation of your own making.
Good night.
