[Alec] Baldwin 'interested' in political run

So unfolds the latest chapter in Alec Baldwin’s ongoing flirtation with public office: The “30 Rock” actor told CNN’s Eliot Spitzer that he’s “very interested” in a political run.

Of course, Baldwin knows there are plenty of obstacles in his way: He loves acting and his current state of New York is flooded with established political players.

“It’s something that I’m very, very interested in,” said Baldwin in an interview set to air Wednesday night. He said what he wants to see from elected leaders is “people who have not lost sight about what the middle class in this country is.” And, despite his fame and success, he says that “whatever I’ve accrued in my career doing that, it hasn’t changed me as a person.”

A friend of mine went to high school with him.

Friend said he was an a__hole back then too.

The way he treated Kim Basinger, he might try to introduce Sharia law to the state.

I’ve learned to separate Mr. Baldwin from his misguided political ideology and arrived at the conclusion that he’s a great guy, actor and person. He may be a political buffoon - but a guy I’d enjoy a few drinks with.

As soon as you’re elected it will be OK to drag you and your family out in the street and stone you to death. Right, Alec?

I knew Alec in 1982. He was always talking politics so this is no surprise. I’m not sure he loves acting that much, I think it was something that crossed his path and he took advantage of the opportunity. As for not understanding the middle class, his memory has to be good enough to remember where he came from, fairly humble. He is quite well off now, that’s true.

He was a better Jack Ryan than Harrison “i’m finally showing my age” Ford...

Personally, I am not going to vote for a guy who threw away a chance to be the next action hero star—Jack Ryan for four movies—so he can do a play that only rich people will see..dah....

Does somebody have that tape where he tells his daughter that she’s a fat cow?
