Send them home and close the borders no reform.

Compared to what we've had? That would be a reform!

McCain says GOP lawmakers celebrating their newfound power on Capitol Hill should remember that last fall's elections were not so much an embrace of their policies as it was "a vote of disapproval with how we've been doing business."

Very true, Juan, but it doesn't seem to have sunk into your thick head that one of the things the voters disapproved most strongly is your, and Ted Kennedy's, and W Bush's and other's serial attempts to force an amnesty scheme on the nation that the American people don't want by a large margin.

And nobody with half a brain believes your lies about "securing the border first". You said that during the primary debates of 2007, and just what steps did you take to secure the borders since then? (And that campaign year charade you and Kyl put on doesn't count.)

If you read between the politcal lines they’ve told you what they’re going to do. A reverse Cuba flotilla. They’re going to grab “most” of the illegal’s that have committed crimes (other than entering the country illegally) and send them back and legitimize all others.

If they would enforce the existing laws, and closed the borders, that would suffice.

Exactly right. Reagan gave us the laws to prevent what is taking place today. The globalist open boarders presidents didn’t enforce them.

Senator McCain, there is nothing wrong with our immigration system. There is everything wrong with those who decide that it's much easier to hop a fence than fill out paperwork and wait their turn.

These are the same who turned their noses up at the last two amnesties, and their extensions. They do not want a path to citizenship and the tax shackles that come with it. Nor do they wish to set aside their Mexican, Brazilian, etc national flags to take up ours.

You can not, in any way, make it any easier, because your efforts are completely wasted. The vast majority of illegal aliens have an anchor baby, cousin, uncle, sister, father to use as a fast track to citizenship, and they don't want to use them.

What gives you the slightest indication, aside from know nothing ‘latino’ activists who would much rather see a great part of this nation be turned into Azlan than their ‘people’ be forced to become Americans, that there is any need for this so called reform? Yes, that's right, for mythical votes from presently illegal aliens. And there, again, you're wrong, as nothing stops them from voting today in most states.

We need to do as every other nation in North or South America does, actually enforce our immigration laws, and stop rewarding line jumpers. You will never buy votes with amnesty, only cost yourself the votes of those who are tired of rewarding criminal behavior, and the votes of immigrants who are sick and tired of the blight upon their communities.

I think it DOES need reform. We CAN reform w/out amnesty. The process by which one becomes citizen NEEDS to be reformed. Nothing wrong w/wanting change there, just depends on what KIND of change.....I certainly don’t trust McCain to do it.

Try enforcing the existing laws for one full year and see how that works — before tearing the system down and rebuilding it.

Lack of enforcement might be the problem, after all.

hmmmm.

Hello, hello Mr. McCain. Are you in there (your head)? It’s really simple. Enforce exhisting immigration laws.

So-called immigration reform is just another word for amnesty. And that’s just a traitorous attempt to buy Mexican votes—or worse.

Go away Mr. McCain. You’re time has long since passed.

The Republican House needs to pass, asap, a stand-alone border security bill that will immediately assign 10,000 troops to the US border (not lightly armed border security agents), who will remain in place until a permanent wall has been built on the southern border. It should be devoid of any pork projects and any reference to immigration. Get this passed and implemented, then start dealing with the illegals who are already here.

“Get this passed and implemented, then start dealing with the illegals who are already here.”

If they enforce the border I will give the same weight to their requst for amnesty that they will give to coninued enforcement. In other words we will look at amnesty again in 30 years.
