Rudy gearing up for DC run (Giuliani in 2012?)
New York Post ^ | 1:08 AM, January 7, 2011

Confident that he'd have a chance to win, Rudy Giuliani is rounding up his top political advisers for a possible 2012 presidential run.

Sources say the tough-talking former mayor "thinks the Republican race will be populated with far-right candidates like Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee, and there's opportunity for a moderate candidate with a background in national security."

Giuliani has even scheduled a trip to New Hampshire for next month to meet with constituents in the state that failed him in January 2008, when he placed fourth in the Republican presidential primary.

The problem is that even Rudy loyalists think it's a bad idea. "They think this is crazy," a source said. "They realize how long the odds are, but they are standing by."

ALRIGHT!! Super bugzapper thread #2 for Rudy.

[FR Thread from 2007] Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?

No thanks on Rudy or Mitt.

First off, Rudy lost all of my respect when he refused to run against Clinton for Senator & let that b***h move into USA political office.

Second this:
the Republican race will be populated with far-right candidates like Mitt Romney...

Is a sign of someone who is seriously off center.
Mitt Romney far right? I really don't even believe that he said this.

And this:
there's opportunity for a moderate candidate

Would apply to the Democrat party, not to the party that just increased by a historical landslide of solid conservatives.

even Rudy loyalists think it's a bad idea. “They think this is crazy,”

Okay, 100% agreed

Excellent if Rudy runs...he takes from the Romney moderate “Manager” vote but not the Palin/Huckabee social votes...win win...magritte

I agree. Senator, NYS AG or even governor were the slots he should have been running for at this point. He will never be president.
