John Edwards proposed to mistress Rielle Hunter -- just weeks after wife Elizabeth dies: report

John Edwards has asked his mistress and baby mama, Rielle Hunter, to marry him -- just weeks after burying his wife, who lost a courageous battle to breast cancer, the National Enquirer reported on Thursday.

Over the holidays, the disgraced ex-presidential candidate introduced his three children, Cate, 28, Emma Claire, 12, and Jack, 10, to the blonde campaign videographer.

And to top it off, Hunter, 46, told Edwards' kids to "Call me Mommy," a source told the tabloid.

While the National Enquirer first broke the story of the affair between the disgraced ex-presidential candidate and Hunter, they've gotten the bit about an engagement wrong before.

The publication reported last February that Edwards popped the big question and that the duo was purchasing an exquisite $3.5 million beachfront home. The story was later discredited.

But according to the new report, the two-timing former senator pledged "his love to Rielle" and promised "they would eventually 'become one big, happy family.'"

Elizabeth Edwards, who was married for 33 years to her husband, died of cancer on Dec. 7. On Thursday, it was revealed she left everything in her possession to their three children, leaving her estranged husband out in the cold.

Edwards admitted last year that he fathered a daughter with Hunter, whom he began having an extramarital affair with during his run for President in 2008.

The wronged wife would be furious if she found out Edwards proposed to Rielle, according to the Enquirer.

"Elizabeth must be turning over in her grave," a source told the tabloid.

Regardless of the marital status of his parents at the time of his birth, John Edwards is a bastard.

Note to Rielle... if he was unfaithful to Elizabeth, why do you think it’ll be different with you?

No surprises here.

Historical trivia question. I was never clear if Laura Ingraham really was referring to the “My Pretty Pony” series of dolls when she use the phrase “silky pony” or if it was something else. We’re the same age so I assumed she was referencing the same influences.

I would expect nothing more from this low-life scum.

Silky Pony and the Skank. They deserve each other. I just wish the kids would be allowed to tell them to buzz off.

Wow, this story is unique,, I care about nobody in it! Edwards is a democrat lawyer low life. Elizabeth was the same, and lied to us, pushed gay marriage, national healthcare, and was a mean shrew who I’m glad was cheated on. And Rielle’s story is like ‘pretty woman’ for trailer trash. They all deserve each other.

Gadzooks, Edwards is so, so....

progressive.

Now, all he has to do to complete the loop is to drive the poor woman off of a bridge while he is drunk, then leave the scene of the crime for a couple of days, lawyer up and get himself off while sealing the records.

After that, he’ll be clear to be come a new “lion of the senate”.

Or is that “lying while in the senate”...or “laying everyone while in the senate”.

Now, now. There’s no accounting for individual taste. Charles has always been faithful to Camilla even though she couldn’t hold a candle to Di.

Neither one of them have any decency. They deserve each other.

Advice to Rielle Hunter - if the guy has cheated on his first wife, he is more apt to cheat on the second and third wife. Keep this in mind before saying “i Do”. He may be the father of your daughterm, but that does not make him husband material. Make sure you have a pre-nuptial agreement, because he is a low=life bottom feeder, like a crap, crab and shrimp - he is an Attornet at Law.

She is a sick, evil person. I pity Edwards' kids having to deal with her.

Nope. No way. Edwards’ political career is finito.

It wasn’t the obvious sins. Those are all easy for “progressives” to laugh off, as we have seen.

Nay. His real sin was to remain in the dem primary race long enough to divide the vote with Obama sufficient to scuttle Hilary’s ambitions, even though he knew by then that the scandal would eventually explode.

Helping to sink Hilary was the unforgivable crime. He is so over. The dems aren’t finished with him, either. The use of campaign money to support Rielle will be pursued to the end. Expect to see him in an orange jumpsuit for a few years.

Because John told her she was "different."

He'll still need someone to partner up with for the waitress sandwiches. Suggestions?

Wonder if John gets any pleasure from his “Father of the Year” award he won a couple years ago. Can he even look at it?
