TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona authorities say a second man has been cleared of any involvement in Rep. Gabrielle Giffords shooting.
Pima County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Ogan said Sunday that the man, a suspected accomplice in the shooting Saturday, was not involved.

If Todd Palin went on a "rampage", an entire Congressional district would be field dressed and jerked before the first call to 911 came in.
This shoots a hole in the conspiracy angle. It was one lone Nut.
As I said when this supposed accomplice was first mentioned, this sheriff is not to be trusted, so we should wait and see.
Earlier, NPR was responsible for spreading the false news that Gifford had been killed, which the other news agencies including Fox all picked up. NPR then apologized for the mistake. They said that the reason they announced she was dead was BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THIS LOONY LEFTIST SHERIFF TOLD THEM.
There’s finally an article about it, I simply heard it on the radio last hour.
Second man was a cab driver who went in to the Safeway with him to get money to pay for the cab ride.
The Federal Judge was a GHW Bush appointee. He was there only because he’d been in the area and stopped by to say “hi” after mass.
One aide, a director of local outreach, was killed and a 9 yo old girl born on 9/11/01. Details of the other three have not been released.
How do we know the judge wasn’t being followed? Maybe the rally and the killers writings were part of a set up to make Gifford look like the intended target.
The judge was a Bush 41 appointee. Regarded as a conservative, as is the congressional district.
This has been explained many times by the judge’s family. He had gone to mass at a Catholic Church VERY close to the Safeway supermarket, and on the way back from services, he spontaneously decided to stop at Gabby’s ‘Meet-n-Greet.’
The media also reported that Gabby Giffords was dead. Twice. And even the president said that she “was” a good friend or some such.

Yet they want us to believe the crap their pundits and guests spew today.
I think NOT.
I think the purpose of their talking about the supposed second suspect wasn’t that they actually thought he was involved but simply to cause people to associate in their minds a white, middle aged guy (ie, member of the conservative/Tea Party/traditional American demographic) with the killing.

I thought that eyewitnesses specifically stated that Loughner came up from behind Rep. Giffords and shot her in the temple.
I have never once heard of the judge being shot FIRST.
VERY peculiar for this to suddenly come out.
Thank you everyone for the clarifying information. I wasn’t out yesterday and didn’t even hear about this heinous crime until late yesterday evening.
I had been listening to the radio when suddenly an announcer broke in and said something about a political assassination had just occurred.
On TV it became hour upon hour upon hour of PALIN bashing and nasty accusatory remarks about the Tea Party.
I have yet to hear anyone on TV mention that the only person in tears was Rep. Michele Bachmann who had tears streaming down her face and was very upset about what had happened to her friend Gabby Giffords.
AND this website was extremely slow for many hours after the tragedy.
We will be learning FACTS for many weeks.
That Sheriff wanted a conspiracy really bad. I thought it was BS from the moment I read the Shooter’s internet ravings.
Nobody works with someone like that.
