Not enough information to conclude any direction case is heading. Judge seems underwhelmed by prsecuting evidence? Is that the skinny?
Interesting...I have a couple thoughts on this but I’ll keep them to myself for now.
When you get to the level of Congress, I think you’d be challenged to find a politician who isn’t dirty.
It is with that in mind that I wouldn’t mind seeing more politicians prosecuted and punished. I don’t subscribe to the mindset that the other guys are dirty, but ours are ok. If more politicians are prosecuted and punished, maybe, just maybe it will make some of those crooked SOBs think twice before doing something illegal or even unethical.
I haven’t been following this, but it said that the judge “ said prosecutors couldn’t prove the businessman’s claims beyond a reasonable doubt.”
He was the prosecutions only witness, but not their only evidence in the case.
DeLay is just another liberal hate crime in progress.
The prosecutor in the Delay case has brought numerous charges against him. Most of them were thrown out on the merits. This is the only one that stuck. And IMO Delay is guilty of doing nothing more than acting within the framework he thought was legal.
There are times when a prosecutor can make a defendant look pretty damned vile, when that isn’t the case. And in this instance, I think that’s what has happened here.
Sometimes regulations are so convoluted that it’s hard to comply to the letter of the law. An infraction was found, and now Delay is supposedly guilty of money-laundering. Money laundering? Give me a break.
If anything he misappropriated funds improperly. Good grief!
Liberals seek violent oppression whenever possible.
Screw DeLay. He was at the center of the Republican deficit spend to win elections strategy under GWB. He completely undid the good reputation Republicans created in the mid 90s. Sounds like he was guilty after all.

If that's the governments contention, they should lose.
You are a sick person. Read. Tom DeLay took the money sent to his PAC and sent it to the RNC. The RNC sent it to Texas Republicans. Isn’t that what a PAC does? Absolutely.
According to early reports by AP, Delay has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.
Thanks for the update.
Wonder how many yrs Rangel will get? **crickets**
