Exclusive: Loughner Friend Explains Alleged Gunman's Grudge Against Giffords
Mother Jones ^ | 10 January, 2011 | Nick Bauman

Posted on 01/10/2011 8:35:17 AM PST by SE Mom

At 2:00 a.m. on Saturday—about eight hours before he allegedly killed six people and wounded 14, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), in Tucson—Jared Lee Loughner phoned an old and close friend with whom he had gone to high school and college. The friend, Bryce Tierney, was up late watching TV, but he didn't answer the call. When he later checked his voice mail, he heard a simple message from Loughner: "Hey man, it's Jared. Me and you had good times. Peace out. Later."

That was it. But later in the day, when Tierney first heard about the Tucson massacre, he had a sickening feeling: "They hadn't released the name, but I said, 'Holy shit, I think it's Jared that did it.'" ...

In messages on MySpace last month, Loughner declared, "I'll see you on National T.v.! This is foreshadow." He also noted on the website, "I don't feel good: I'm ready to kill a police officer! I can say it." ...

"I think the reason he did it was mainly to just promote chaos. He wanted the media to freak out about this whole thing. He wanted exactly what's happening. He wants all of that."

>> “Tierney tells Mother Jones in an exclusive interview that Loughner held a years-long grudge against Giffords and had repeatedly derided her as a “fake.” Loughner’s animus toward Giffords intensified after he attended one of her campaign events and she did not, in his view, sufficiently answer a question he had posed, Tierney says.”

Didn’t he build some type of occult shrine in his backyard utilizing skulls? As I understand it he was living at home, which should have given real pause to his parents even assuming they missed all the other signs.

Just as I have said before. This is a drug-addled leftist Bush-hating anarchist.

He chose to “promote chaos” by putting bullets in innocent people.

Premeditated, planned, and executed in cold blood.

He is getting what he wanted. Global attention.

This is why we have the death penalty. Unfortunately he knows he will be treated in a humane fashion and not suffer as his victims did.

Surprisingly good article from a leftist publication. Appears to show that Loughlin was, if anything, apolitical (certainly not right wing).

I think he tried to murder Gabrielle Giffords because he was furious that she was not interested in him.

This psycho stalker untreated paranoid schizophrenic kept a letter from her office locked up in a safe for THREE YEARS.

Jerry Loughner was obsessed with Gabby Giffords and when she recently married a NASA astronaut, his conspiratorial online ravings about NASA suddenly start to become clear.

This mentally ill male had a crush on Giffords and like all other loser stalkers who can't interest the opposite sex, became ENRAGED with her.

Jerry Giffords was in OBVIOUS need of psychiatric care ---- where was that lousy sheriff all along while Jerry was making death threats which became KNOWN to the sheriff?

How did this extremely ill individual EVER pass an FBI background check which enabled him to purchase the Glock?

Where'd he get the MONEY for that kind of weapon???

There has been no reporting on the shooter's parents. Makes me suspect they are liberal Democrats, perhaps with liberal Democrat type professions. After all, they raised a child who was an atheist and a 911 Truther. When Hinkley shot Reagan, we learned within 12 hours that his parents were registered Republicans.

He also describes Loughner as being obsessed with "lucid dreaming"—that is, the idea that conscious dreams are an alternative reality that a person can inhabit and control—and says Loughner became "more interested in this world than our reality." Tierney adds, "I saw his dream journal once. That's the golden piece of evidence. You want to know what goes on in Jared Loughner's mind, there's a dream journal that will tell you everything."

That's it! Art Bell and George Noory are to blame. That lucid dreaming stuff comes straight off Coast-to-Coast. Hahahaha...yeppers, talk radio is to blame. The media just pinned it on the wrong show. Snicker...

Yeh, especially this one:

Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

The good sheriff might want to educate himself a bit. Then he'll see where a lot of the "rhetoric" he so abhors is really coming from.

Tierney believes that Loughner was very interested in pushing people’s buttons?and that may have been why he listed Hitler’s Mein Kampf as one of his favorite books on his YouTube page. (Loughner’s mom is Jewish, according to Tierney.)

If his mother is Jewish, then he is (technically) Jewish.

This guy was nothing more than a Devil worshipping deranged dope-smoking hippy Leftist with an enormous superiority complex.

Wow, that pretty much describes most people on the Left. He was just farther out-there than average.

Loughner is 22, four years past the age when he became a legal adult. Not much they could do. For this we must thank the Democrats who gutted our mental health system in the 1960's and 70's.

“”I think the reason he did it was mainly to just promote chaos. He wanted the media to freak out about this whole thing. He wanted exactly what’s happening. He wants all of that.””

And the left is more than willing to comply with this nut-job’s wishes.

Speaking of ‘nut-jobs’...

June 2008, Obama quoted the movie The Chicago Way in a speech:

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said
in Philadelphia last night. “Because from what I understand, folks in
Philly like a good brawl. “

If he comes from a Jewish home, which as been discussed, then there is a 99% chance his parents are uber-ultra fanatic-foaming at the mouth, Leftist Liberals. Therefore, they will be exempted by the media from any responsibility for their deranged mass murdering son.

The shooter (as I choose to call him) was not apolitical in my opinion... Rather he was / still is a nut case who grew progressively worse and along the assembled a nearly indecipherable hodgepodge of conflicting political beliefs...Then the shooter mixes in his confused set of political beliefs with off the wall Matrix like world of unreality...

And somehow this deranged mindset was associated with WHAT?

I read the entire article (bad habit of mine) and I found this one sentence veeeery interesting.
Tierney got used to spending the first ten minutes or so of every day together arguing with Loughner's "nihilist" view of the world.

Using that word is extremely telling IMHO. These are its definitions per Dictionary.com

  1. total rejection of established laws and institutions.
  2. anarchy, terrorism, or other revolutionary activity.
  3. total and absolute destructiveness, esp. toward the world at large and including oneself
  4. Philosophy:
    a) an extreme form of skepticism: the denial of all real existence or the possibility of an objective basis for truth.
    b) nothingness or nonexistence.
  5. holding that existing social and political institutions must be destroyed in order to clear the way for a new state of society and employing extreme measures, including terrorism and assassination.
  6. annihilation of the self, or the individual consciousness, esp. as an aspect of mystical experience.

Now this is when he was a 'kid' still in High School. Back in the 'good old days', he'd have been in an insane asylum pdq. So where were this Psycho's PARENTS?!? They had to know their kid was nuts, but they apparently did nothing.

And where are the parents NOW?? The MSM should be camped out on their front lawn!

To which Gifford should have answered: “Dude, what does you question mean if words have no meaning?”

The circular illogic of post-modern nihilism is generally missed by those, be they highbrow academics or bat-shit crazies, who buy into this drivel.

On Sunday, federal prosecutors charged 22-year-old Loughner with one count of attempting to assassinate a member of Congress, two counts of unlawfully killing a federal employee, and two counts of attempting to kill a federal employee.

What? He murdered SIX people? Do the other four not count because they weren't "federal employees"?
